I put this on another thread and it seems I've got it in for the lad but he simply isn't good enough.
Me "getting behind him" is not going to make him suddenly develop a football brain, make him able to stop crosses, make him get in position quicker or make him able to cross a ball.
When Boateng starts playing at right back I'm pretty sure the penny will drop with a lot of people. Boateng is of a similar age but is light years ahead of Richards in terms of football intelligence and ability.
Zabs isn't the answer but if Boateng isn't fit I'd favour him over Richards all day long. As someone has already stated, if he went to Liverpool this week, you'd identify him as a weakness and would be telling Johnno and Silva to take turns in terrorising him. He'd do well to last 'til half time.
People would do well to wonder why the lad who looked like a footballing God a few seasons ago has regressed so badly. If fingers need to be pointed it shouldn't be at the fans criticising him, it should be at the lad himself.

Not trawling back thru 15 pages so forgive me if this has been done but I'll say somethings in Micah's defence:-
1 It's v early season and he was up against Bale, who, since about January, has been just about the best left sided wide player in the prem. (Better than AJ, who has been mostly on the right anyway)
2 He was actually trying to pass and throw the ball to a team mate instead of aimlessly throwing or passing it up the line. Admittedly, he still didn't find a man with his passes all the time but, for me, there was a noticeable improvement.
3 As the game went on, he got more comfortable on the ball and was an attacking threat early doors in the second half - if he had managed to score with that header in the second half, the fairweather fans on here would be talking about how great 'our micah' is.
4 He was exposed a lot in the first 35 minutes as we kept breaking down and losing posession constantly.
4 I felt he put in a great effort all told. Yes he got exposed by Bale a few times but, the thing with city is that, even though spurs managed to get 2/3 players on Johnson as soon as he got on the ball, despite out defensive midfielders, we never seemed to double up on either Lennon or Bale at any time, thus leaving Micah more exposed. It's a team game and he didn't get a lot of help imho.
If anyone was at the match and feel I'm wrong - rather than watching it on tv as you see things differently - please respond.
