Michael Johnson arrested

fame, and then not having an outlet due to being stretched out on the treatment table, all the while becoming estranged with the rep he was building and hype surrounding him... i was there when he came on after being out for quiet some time as a sub against west ham a couple of seasons ago, looked heavy, but was great to see him back in action, even if it was only a cameo, and did he score one that night? pretty sure he did, fine strike 3-1 it finished..

ok he's not setting the world alight, but everything written about him is regarding another set back..
quiet sad at the end of the day, and easy to comment on but imagine being in his shoes? we all f**k up from time to time

-- Sat Jun 02, 2012 3:11 pm --

was nice to see tev score and not celebrate in front of the west ham fans, this was of course before he bacame void of all cop on and respect for anything but his clothing range.....

Baffles me when footballers and celebrities drink-drive and risk everything they have. Like they can't afford to throw 20 quid down for a cab home?

I don't think he was ever over rated. Big talent, slipping away.

Correct. The comparison with Colin Bell came largely from those of us who'd seen Bell in his prime. The clip of the second goal where you can't see his head - if you'd just shown me that (freeze at 1.32), I'd have said "Colin Bell" instantly, just from the way he moved. It's very sad, he's very stupid, and very lucky not to have done serious damage or injury - but still there's no cause for some of the visciousness on here about it.

When I saw the headline "Johnson arrested for drink driving" is it wrong that I automatically thought of AJ?

Looked a fantastic talent before his injury. Would he have ever moved up into this team now if he had no injuries is a hard question. I think Mancini would have moulded him into a fine midfielder regardless of if it was for us or not.

Real shame.

Looks like one who's not going to make it big big shame thought he was going to have a great future with us,suppose for every one that makes it hundreds don't, such a loss his body and brain didn't match his footballing ability.
