He is only 24.If he has recovered from his injuries and this is the wake up call he needs we could still have a heck of a player on our hands.

Even if he does get back into some sort of the form he was promising early in his career;
A. How long will that take? And can we wait?
B. Even if we don't buy anyone else in in midfield in that period (a lot of ''in''s there; think they make sense!), and we still have the same first choice XI, who would you drop for MJ? Assuming that Yaya and Merlin are untouchable (and GazBaz not that far behind them), that leaves Nasri. Would you drop Nasri for MJ? Hmm. And the likelihood is that we will indeed strengthen the midfield anyway. Can't see Johnson ever playing for us again, as he isn't as good as what we currently have.

I admire your faith in him. Really, I do. Unfortunately, I don't share it. I'll be amazed if he ever plays for us again. He would remind me of Gazza; technically gifted, but weak-willed and easily led astray.
