Michael Johnson.....

Such a shame I just hope the lad can sort his lifestyle out otherwise by the time he's 50 he'll just be an absolute mess, he's still young enough to forge another career like Paul Lake did. Hope he goes to Uni gets a degree in sports science and salvages his life while he still can!!

i've slagged him on here but you can tell by the look on his face he's gutted.

i hope he sorts it out, i really do.

When I watched him and Steven Ireland in the reserves/youth team I honestly thought they would both be huge stars. He did play a bit like Colin Bell and Ireland reminded me of a young Liam Brady. He isn't the first to throw away his career...and sadly he won't be the last.

I remember seeing this lad when he broke through as many others did. I thought he could be the real deal.
It seems so sad to see how his career has turned out. I just wish him all the best and hope he can find success in what ever he decides to do from now on
Good Luck Lad

The club has to take some responsibility for both his and Steven Irelands sad demise. It's not a great advert for our academy that we were unable to prepare these two very talented kids for their futures as professional sportsmen.

The club uses these two as a template of exactly how not to become so they seems to recognise that something went wrong with these two. However the youth players are still very well paid, perhaps too well paid (Denis Suarez is apparently paid far more than anyone in Barcelona's academy), but it's the same at most top English clubs (look at the car United's Ryan Tunnicliffe recently wrecked).

End of the day the kids a multi millionaire, he's going to go on and have a better life than most and never needs to lift a figure again. wasted talent but good luck to him

-- Tue Jan 15, 2013 5:10 pm --

Irelands demise was the sale of Robinho, them too was on the same wave length and complimented each other brilliantly, was never the same player after Robinho left
