Middle East Conflict

Just seen some footage of an Israeli reserve brigade driving what looks like Hummers with a turret and canon on the top. Not being funny but the driver sat behind a Hummer windscreen will not being funny but the driver pretty vulnerable behind a windscreen and once and something the Ukraine/Russia conflict has shown is an immobilised turret is pretty fucking vulnerable. I am starting to see that so called military super powers tend to get high on their own supply and can learn the reality in a harsh way

It’s a fake gun and turret.

Used for mechanised manoeuvres and training purposes but obviously rushed into service.

Its an absolute disgrace, but it’s a symptom of this polarisation we have seen the world over, in fact you don’t have look far it’s very evident on this forum

People getting into one camp or another and refusing to even consider the other camps perspective or in extreme forms the other camps right to exist

It’s almost like there has been a vacuum left by the decline of traditional tribal politics and religion and people are desperate to belong and blame the other for there problems, perhaps it was ever thus
Blaming “the other” for troubles is as old as the hills. Anybody different, any minority will do. Magnified by social media I think.

I suspect that Israel my come to regret house to house fighting........ the use of armour is limited in an urban environment and with Hamas like as not in tunnels they will hardly be affected by bombardment and unless the IDF know where the tunnels are they will be hard to root out. Finally whilst they may have called up 300k reservists I can't help but wonder as to the resolve of a 35 year old corner shop owner or a 40 year old lecturer if they come under heavy fire. Bad times are coming.
The Israeli military have a lot more strings to it's bow than just tanks. Take some time and look at it's orbat.

Wonder where we’d be if Iran spent their money on infrastructure, homes, industry, education & jobs, instead of rockets rifles & propaganda in Gaza
Illegitimate rulers are only interested in staying a power, because being removed from power typically comes with a death sentence. Distracting people with religion and external threats is an age-old tactic. Let's be honest, a significant portion of the Iranian population would love to see these ayatollah's dead in a ditch and yet even they, for the most part, tow the party line on Israel.

Israeli ambassador on Sky News.

"There is no Humanitarian disaster in Gaza"

I mean What the actual fuck?
She’s been on radio 5 Live saying that schools and hospitals are legitimate targets because Hamas hide in them. Very worrying.

I agree with what she was saying about Hams needing to be dealt with like ISIS.

The assertion that Hamas has prevented the population of North Gaza moving South doesn’t chime with the huge numbers of displaced civilians arriving in Southern Gaza.
