More than 400 Congressional staffers, primarily Jewish and Muslim, anonymously signed an open letter calling for an immediate Gaza ceasefire. They noted they were "profoundly disturbed" that "shows of humanity" following the Hamas attack "have barely been extended to the Palestinian people.
A U.S. official confirmed a HuffPost report that State Department officials are preparing an internal document directed to State Department leadership criticizing the Biden administration's approach to Israel's war on Gaza.
The dual efforts come after a top State Department official publicly resigned earlier this week in protest of Biden policy on Israel.
