Middle East Conflict

Because their backers have also been severely weakened, they can have new members but if there is no one to arm them it doesn't mean shit. No way Israel will let Hamas be as strong as they once were and I think it's likely they enforce an even more brutal form of an open prison camp in future, unless something dramatic happens to BN and his vile government.

International pressure brought down apartheid South Africa. I don't think anyone's saying Hamas are going to bring down an Israel funded with billions of pounds of weaponry from the world's only current superpower. This is part of the illusion created that Israel can defend itself against Iran but not against Hamas in tunnels who have been under a 17 year blockade.

Apparently intent is usually the most difficult part to prove in a genocide case. Who's to say genocide won't be proven within the next decade in this case where it very much appears that Israel has systematically bombed schools, hospitals and tents? Will the international community still be standing by in those circumstances?

Not to argue any other point that you made, but it's very clear that urban warfare with a guerrilla force is an extremely difficult thing to defend against compared to so called nation warfare.

I think they have influence, not a say. The difference there is important. They can attempt to lobby people to their side but plenty of people in the US houses can and do ignore them
Well lobbyists lobby obviously and AIPAC is a powerful lobby. But to suggest it is single-handedly dictating for the world's richest and most powerful nation is a bit much.

The National Association of Realtors spent $20m more than AIPAC on political lobbying during the 2024 cycle. Do you reckon this is really "big housing" controlling the US Government?

AIPAC are actually 22nd ranked in contributions and 199th in lobbying money. Why focus specifically on them?

Who are representing a foreign nation. Money well spent though eh with the US taxpayer sending over another £18 Billion last year. Ask them if them happy about that.

Is there one about the National Association of Realtors too that I can compare against?

The US spent $183 billion on Ukraine so far. Is there an article on them as that's 10 times as much so people must be rioting in the streets right?

What's the difference?

Have they been funding Ukraine for the past 30 years?

Having a debate with folk who think the Israeli lobby groups have no bearing on any US policy in the middle east. The mind boggles
You're oversimplifying in order to feel your argument is more valid. Nobody is suggesting that ANY lobby doesn't hold influence, people (well, me) is suggesting that they do not dictate policy and their "power" is overstated if you look at the funding model contextually.

Damocles what's the reason the Americans give Israel Billions every year, shield them from everyone. and veto every UN vote which is brought up to sanction them?
Because it is in the geopolitical interests of the United States to have a Western friendly (and Western cultured to some degree) Government in the world's most valuable resource region, who can act as a bulwark against the type of people that could potentially united against the United States collectively and turn their incredible resources towards reducing the influence of them and their corporate interests?

I'm not sure that encapsulates everything and there's other connotations involved based on history, culture and religion but I think it's a better answer than because the Jews control Congress.
