That is a great idea. However, I think the request would have to come from the club.

My old man wouldn't of been that bothered that City did nothing when he died as he had lived the dream and played for the club he loved.
He would however be very grateful and proud to you the supporters for what you are trying to do on Sunday.
When we won the League Cup in 76 the first thing my Dad did was go and salute the City supporters ( sure he even jumped in the crowd )
The supporters are Man City.
Thanks again and enjoy Sunday………..You deserve it.

A great post Scott. I'm a young(ish) blue with my first game being in 1989 so I never got the privileged of watching your dad play in the flesh. But, from the Kippax to the Etihad there is only ever great things said about him. I've seen the games (including that cup final) and he was City personified - pride in battle. I'll be there Sunday and will be bellowing "There's only one Mike Doyle" out on the turn of the 4th minute, as I'm sure 30,000 other blues will be.
