30 million is obscene for what I've seen out of Milner. Against world class footballers
he hasn't looked good.

Based on international results, English players don't warrant these prices. It's no shock that most of the footballers Mancini targets aren't from England.

Just gotta ask, why 30 million? He's looked below average on a poor England squad.

Was he fit? Thought he was sick and had missed training

He had some sort of sickness, but his performance tonight was comparable to his performance in the friendlies.

He always seems to struggle just to play on the same level as the other England footballers, and as we've seen today, that level is below at least a half dozen other countries. Just seems like there should be more value out there for 30 million.

About the time we were in for Lescott, he started playing really badly for Everton (a 1-6 home defeat springs to mind) so maybe Milner is also affected by transferitis?

Milner is a good Premiership standard player but no more than that.
Anything like 30m would be a ridiculous fee for him, even with the usual 'City tax' added on.

To be perfectly honest I don't think it really matters how he performs for England, it's how he performs in the Prem week in week out. The only good thing (not for City) that will come out of some good performances in South Africa is that his price will go up by a few mil.

I don`t know whats wrong with Capello ! he didn`t give Milner a fair chance
He was very obviously out of sorts, be that because of the virus (or not) & so badly off the pace of the game he would have got himself sent off very quickly, so replacing him was a good thing IMO. Not so sure replacing him with SWP was such a great idea though.

Thank god he's just a smokescreen eh?

milner is average and was worst than that last night (but im sure that had something to do with him being ill).....still dont think he is the right player to go for (if indeed we are)

i thought swp did ok when he came on last night...certainly no worse than anyone else......

Is Weiss not ready for your team yet if you don't get Milner? He looked a very good prospect a year or so ago. Will he stay on loan?
As someone who has a few mates that have come through the acadamy into thw first team and as a friend of vlad I know he wants to play for city first and if he can't do that he will go out on loan but not to bolton thts for sure. As ur a and evertonian darker shade how do u think rodwell will do nxt season?

He signed a new deal, so that means he'll probably be staying with us for at least a year unless someone offers a rediculous amount. His place isn't assured in our team though, as our midfield are one of the strongest midfields around, but his qualities are already apparant, and I'd expect him to push hard for a place. I think he is probably the best young player I've seen in a long time, and though he is playing in a different position to Rooney, I feel he is just as exciting a prospect.
