We are buying potential...Boateng,Balotelli,milner,Johnson are all very good possible future stars...

Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesnt but until you try you dont know..

Give the kid his chance.:)

"MCFC have bid £18m+£2m add-ons. They will prob compromise about £25m. Possible Ireland or Onuoha included."

this is what i keep reading.
could be true?

Will be one of our best ever signings and become a club legend, probably captain down the line. My prediction anyway.

Do you think he's good enough to play in the Champions League/title winning side? Because not wanting to sound arrogant, that's what we are aiming for and Milner seems a fairly long-term addition with his age.

Easily. Think Lampard 8 years ago.

Listen to this guy. The closest thing I have seen to Lampard in a very long time.

wheres this?

Milner has already made it clear that he wants to join us, so i think we need to bide our time and not go diving in for their asking price of 30m.

I think anything above 25m is getting abit crazy

I know. They all are fantastic players. Milner will never be as good as them thats for sure.

Milner will be a good squad player but 20 Million.... cmon.

The boy does not set the price. Rio Ferdinand was not worth £19m when Leeds paid West Ham.

Manure and another £30m transfer later, proves you must pay top dollar for what can be perceived as a great talent in the making.

People are liars if they are saying Rooney was worth £30m at the age of 18.

He wasn't, but he's worth triple now.

My only point is, when we are at Stoke on a pissing Wednesday night, these are the type of quality additions that make the difference.

Milner has yet to establish himself in the Premier League though and he's already 24.

Yes thats why he'll be a good player nothing more. City can do alot better than Milner.

Milner looked a good player when he was at Leeds and he has consistently improved since then and, as Tolimie pointed out above, he has a good attitude, whcih means there's every chance that he will work hard at his game and continue to improve. He may not be anyone's idea of a fantasy footballer but he is the sort of player that successful (English) teams need in their squad. If he comes to City, we should be pleased to welcome him.

Strongest team:

--------------------------GIVEN--------------------------

---BOETANG---KOMPANY-----LESCOTT---KOLAROV---

------------------------DE-JONG-------------------------
----------------Y.TOURE---------------------------------
-------------------------------------MILNER-------------

--------------------------SILVA--------------------------

-----------------TEVEZ-----------BALOTELLI-----------

Wow, look at the average age aswell, are there any 30 year old's in that team?
