How on earth Tevez , Robben were sold for 25 mil only and Villa want 30 for Milner !!!

The 'young and English' premium is astonishing.

That said, the real reason that such a high price has been put on his head is that Villa don't want to sell.

Indeed, and the reason they dont wanna sell is that he's absolute quality. Watch him show the player he is in South Africa next 4 weeks

Would we even be pursuing Milner if his name were Jacques Frenchman and he played at Monaco? How much is the fact that he's English?

Don't get me wrong, love to have him, but we could find players like him for less from Bundesliga or Serie A.

30mil not a problem - he is a quality player - he can tackle, he can create and he can score goals. Of course some members of this forum would prefer someone with a more exotic sounding name but he is premiership proven, We could do a lot worse.

You got to remember the other premium people! This season there are new regulations on number of players registered and certain amount have to be trained in this country. This means English players and players who have been here from a young age may be more in demand

Does it? Then why did Ryan Giggs win Player of the season despite only making what, 9 starts? Voted by the same people.

Why did Stephen Ireland not win Young Player of the year last year but Young did and Ireland only finished 4th?

Because the award means fuck all imho.
