22m and Ireland and Onuoha. I think this'd do it.

Ireland and Onuoha together are worth 20 million plus. So you're valuing Milner at Over 40 million pounds...

LMAO, About 5m for Onuoha and 8m for Ireland, so actually its about 35m, thats not what I value Milner at but we're not spending an over inflated price and we're ridding the club of players surplus to requirements.

I'd say 95% of the forum are.

Considering I actually know what price the club values both players at - I'd suggest I should be the one laughing at your valuations. Way wide of the mark...

BTW - what makes you think that either Neds or Ireland would want to move to Villa. Swap deals rarely happen because it's rarely in a player's interest to be moved on as part exchange for another player. Especially, as in Ireland's case, where there are far more attractive clubs who'll buy you outright.

Don't get me wrong - I like Milner and think he would be an excellent addition to our squad. I just think its pretty funny that people think the players we have at our club currently will allow themselves to be used as pawns in City's transfer strategy...

Milner underwhelms me, people see his engine and work rate and suddenly it puts another £10m on his price

Being english is apparently a valuable quality to have as a footballer as well - +£10m

Btw were you romancing yesterday in the Wagon and Horses on Mottram road??

Is Milner actually any better than what we have already?? Would he significantly improve us?

If someone gave me the choice of SWP or Milner I'd choose SWP and I'm not SWP's biggest fan. So what if he is versatile? That doesnt hold much weight with me anyway as we should have specialists for each position. Being English is neither here nor there either.

If we pay anything over £8m I'd consider it over paying so £30m is just ridiculous. Robinho cost £30m - fair enough he hasnt done as well as we would hope but it has done far more on and off the pitch then Milner would do for us.

People are quoting the £30m bracket for the likes of Ibra and Ribery - not Milner. £30m is the going rate there or thereabouts for matchwinners. Is Milner a matchwinner - not really. I have yet to see a bit of magic to win a game from him.

Milner's another good premiership player. WE've got loads at that level. What we need now are players who are a level above again. Players who are or who can be world class.

Milner's another Barry and not what we need.

If we had 4 balanced Premiership midfielders we'd be top 4 already. As it is we play round midfield, not through it

Milner makes things happen, whilst barry relys on his simplicity and consistency.
