Its starting to bug me all this "why get milner when we can get ozil for less"

1. They are different types of players
2. The two selling clubs are in totally different bargaining positions (ozil has 1yr left on contract)
3. English players cost more because of the new incoming rules
4. If we went for Ozil they would not accept the 20mill they were willing to from other clubs it would raise to about 25mill
5. All the people saying milner has had 1 good season. The exact same can be said of ozil!!! or does everyone choose to forget this as Ozil is a fancy foreign name.
6. Milner is prem proven

Mostly agree. The Ozil obsession is ludicrous.

That said, I think Milner is vastly overpriced. I wouldn't say no to him signing, but I wouldn't be doing cartwheels either.

Would be a solid but unspectacular, overly costly acquisition for me - good player but we aren't exactly desperate for someone like him.

Who am I to complain if they want to bring in an England international though?

Who cares about England international team ! They are not Spain nor Brazil

England didn`t qualify for Euro 2008 ! What doest that tells you ?
England had a shameful World cup this summer. What doest that tells you ?

I would rather have Modric over Milner anytime . and I am sure if Modric was english , his picture will be in the papers everyday and the media " SKY" will classify him as the best midfielder on the planet.

So stop hyping English players, and just give credits where its due .

I think he is saying it would be good to have a player that is good enough to be an England starter, along with Hart, and AJ. Several of our 8 home grown are unsettled and could be gone if not this year, soon down the road. Ned, Ireland, Bellamy, SWP and Bridge. Not saying I want them to leave but they may want to leave on their own if they arent in the first team.

The obsession for ozil over Milner comes from the monks on here that are new to football nevermind new to city and cause they watched football at a world cup to prove how big football fans they are, they think they know what there talking about

I'd love us to buy ozil and give him a chance to prove he's not just a world cup wonder cause let's face it how often do we see that but to compare ozil and Milner is like comparing a city and a united fan

people are just not getting it m8!
Getting what? It's called an opinion mate, you should try getting one rather than following the rest of the sheep. He's had ONE good season (similar to Ireland's in 09) and suddenly he's the best thing since sliced bread? Do you think any clubs would've payed £30 mill for Ireland after last season? NO. Villa are taking the piss out of us for an ordinary player.

Please, explain to me what I'm not getting. The english player hype machine?

chill m8 it was not directed at your comment its the comparisons of milner/ozil!

two completely different players but people are still banging on about why milner when we can get ozil

Villa are getting on my nerves. Why haven't they bitten our hands off at £24m. WTF makes them think they can get £30m in a buyer's market and no other competing bid in sight?
