As with many things in life...it's not what you know, it's who you know.
It isn't fair but it has gone on for ever and a day and will continue to do so.
The problem will only get worse in the future as well with more and more big games, Euro's and cup finals hopefully on the way.
My suggestion is scrap the ticketing policy through the OSC's and as a fan, you apply like every other through the club and if criteria is met and tickets are available you get one.
One more thing on this as well, without naming names, i also know of corporate season ticket holders that have been fucked off for a ticket for the derby and they are not best pleased. Before you start getting your knickers in a twist, these guys go home and away and are fortunate enough to be able to sit in the comfy seats and stick more money in the club coffers, fair play to them. The main selling point from the club re Corporate seats is Priority away tickets, you apply and you get yet on this occasion you get told sorry, you can not have. These lads are well and truly fucked off and are seriously thinking about fucking the seats off and just getting normal seats for next season with the resulting loss of revenue the club will receive as a result but the real problem they have is as corporate seat holders, they have never had loyalty points awarded as they have never had need due to the privilege afforded with the seats.
An expansion of the ground capacity wise will mean a hell of a lot more corporate seats being put in. That is where the money is for clubs and they too will be given priority on away tickets should they require so the issue for normal season ticket holders is only going to get worse im afraid.
The day is fast approaching when 3,000 tickets for a derby will be gone well before it ever gets to the point of putting them on sale to loyalty point holders.
The issue needs to be sorted out for all and fast imo.
