Missing woman Nicola Bulley - inquest (P 158)

I don't mean to sound callous or insensitive (I'm not, though it may come across that way). I'm just wondering why this tragic case in particular, is getting the publicity that it is getting. I'm sure there's plenty of missing women cases every year, and they don't seem to get the media coverage this lady is getting. I could understand it if she'd been murdered, which she hasn't (as of yet, though it doesn't look good at this stage).

Again, apologies if I seem crass/uncaring/insensitive. Trust me, it's not intentional.
You could ask the same question about the Madeline McCann case. She wasn't the only child to go missing (and still not be found).

I wonder what makes specific cases of significantly greater interest to the media?

The circumstances surrounding the cases I would guess.

That is a valid observation. I guess that, in the McCann case, the fact it was a young child that went missing would, for a lot of people, make it a more emotive case. Remember Ben Needham? For me, any missing individual (be it child or adult) is a soul destroying scenario for the family.
