Question is: Would they allow it?
Have a preseason tournament with all the teams involved perhaps?

So you’re saying there’s a chance?A bit like Tyson Fury fighting three dwarves back to back.
Red Bull's stadium is "not available' lolThink the positivity is over. Stadium issue really becoming a problem
Their home game in the North American equivalent of the Champions League is to be played in..... Los Angeles!!!! FFS
Yankee Stadium, the Mets stadium are not acceptable in that competition, and the Red Bull arena is not available.
Surely there is a suitable stadium that is not a 5 and a half hour flight away? CEO is trying to justify it by saying it makes sense as they're playing LA Galaxy that week too.
They should be capitalising on the success of last season and instead they're going to alienate current and potential fans.
Must be infuriating.
They will be playing the champions of Mexico, Honduras, Panama etc. with the way that the MLS is set up financially it probably makes more sense to attract the crowd from LA's proximity to those countries and the immigrant population in Southern California than be concerned with the convenience to 1000 at best supporters flying across the country to watch.Think the positivity is over. I got the impression that the two Baseball stadiums didn't meet CONCACAFs stadium regs based on the pitch so possibly the Yale Bowl and even the MetLife would fail for similar reasons. They will be playing the champions of Mexico, Honduras, Panama etc. with the way that the MLS is set up financially it probably makes more sense to attract the crowd from LA's proximity to those countries and the immigrant population in Southern California than be concerned with the convenience to 1000 at best supporters flying across the country to watch.
They could, if arsed, potentially use the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut which is @ a 1 hour drive from Yankee stadium in the Bronx. It has hosted NFL games and international friendlies in the past. Due to NCAA regulations no alcohol may be sold on the premises, so that's probably a disqualifier right there as well.
Plenty of NYorkers in CA, but playing in Florida would be their biggest ‘away’ home fan base.Think the positivity is over. Stadium issue really becoming a problem

As I said before, NYCFC (MLS) is not concerned with convinience to the teams supporters. They are all about appearance. NYCFC played a conference final last year here in Philadelphia, they were offered 2500 seats in a stadium that seats 20,000....they brought less than 1000 people. Philadelphia is two hours away, if they play the game in New York area they will have twice as many Costa Rican as they will NYC people, played in LA, they will have 20x that.I got the impression that the two Baseball stadiums didn't meet CONCACAFs stadium regs based on the pitch so possibly the Yale Bowl and even the MetLife would fail for similar reasons.
They are playing a Costa Rican side and it just seems to me as they have no regard for their own supporters. If you can't play it in New York and you need a (for this purpose) soccer stadium, play in Philadelphia or wherever is closest to New York.
We had to play a European qualifier in Barnsley because Bon Jovi were using our ground. Barnsley was acceptable, Baku in Azerbaijan would not have been.
And as I said, there is no regard for their supporters. The CFG shouldn't have been given the franchise until the stadium issue had been resolved. As I said before, NYCFC (MLS) is not concerned with convinience to the teams supporters. Economics, my friend, economics.
