Mohammed Kudus

Cracking player but Nico Williams has a €58m release clause?

Nico Williams isn’t better than Savinho.

Savinho got 9 goals and 10 assists in la liga last season, Williams got 5 and 11. Williams has played 3 full seasons in la liga starting most games and has 11 goals combined and he’s only scored one this season.

Not a stats nerd but Savinho comes out on top in all of these stats from last season.

Kudus is a step above both, special player.

Didn't Nico Williams turn down Barca in the Summer? When his stock was at the highest its been?

It takes a lot to make Bilbao players leave so even if we hit the release clause, it wouldn't be a certainty.

Much like Zubimendi it seems.

Yeah, most teams find the wages an issue. He's already on 175k a week. The club rarely buys so overpay players.

Nope. There have been issues with him at West Ham.

Not good enough for me. Shines in a poor West Ham team. Another Nunes/Phillips level signing.

Please note this is just my opinion only.
Your opinion? Crikey, people only want facts on here….

Would be better had you heard it from a bloke in the pub, whose mates with the local dog walking woman whose cousin know a man who’s married to someone who used to clean the concessions at Upton Park, and her brothers wife’s cousin said, “he’s a bit shit”? ;-)

Yeah you haven’t seen him during the World Cup or whatever he did last season? All his goals were individual not some „ I shine in a team because they are all shit“ especially with paqueta and Bowen there. The stuff he has done neither Phillips or Nunes have done in their respective positions. If we go by your logic then there’s no one we can get beside some players from Arsenal or Liverpool which are not attainable obviously. Never seen Nunes run through the whole midfield and score a goal several times.

Kudus and Baleba would give us „ bodies In midfield who barely lose the ball“ . But yeah we have to go for the exact same players that stopped working.

I can’t imagine Pep trusting Kudus as one of his 8s straight away.

Kudus excels with free space to run into, he won't get that at us

He's got a lot of ability but honestly Bowen is better
He does but so did Bernardo at Monaco.

Similiarily to Bernardo, Kudus is a fantastic dribbler with very good technique in the tight-spaces. And especially at Ajax loads of hos goals came very Sterling/Lampard like, good to time runs into the box.

Very hard to say, but Kudus is one I feel actually gets held back in a worse team and would be better in a team like ours when we are firing.

Kudos to you and us ..

Bowen is average and we have better wingers in Doku and Savinho. Kudus would make our team better, Bowen wouldn't

Some lovely stuff in here:

Having said that, I can't help but think we're shopping at a tier lower than we used to. Buying players that have done quite well for a mid table side. When we bought Sterling, he'd been a key part of a team that almost won the league. When we bought Mahrez, he'd won the league and won at least one of the POTS awards in the process. When we bought KDB, he was the best player in the Bundesliga. Bernardo Silva had just won Ligue 1 and got to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a French team. The equivalent now would be us buying Saka (or Haaland, to be fair). Now we're linked with players that have done pretty well for Wolves, Leeds, West Ham, etc. And don't get me wrong, occasionally you'll unearth a gem from teams like that, but we do need to also be buying stuff from the top shelf occasionally too.

Christ it's amazing how differently people see players. Bowen would 100% improve our team
Really come on as a player past year or two. I agree he'd improve our team as it's playing now, and could maybe go up a level under Pep.

Would definitely improve us right away. Left wing or right. Can play as a 10 too. He was rated as one of the best talents from Ajax at the time. He can flourish in a better team. West Ham are not his level, with all due respect.

I do agree we have priorities however, midfield and defence needs sorting first.

Liverpool have always been pretty successful shopping at this level but we're awful at it. It'd be nice to get one right these days.
