That high line with our guys running towards our own goal. Need to be so good to do that - with a Vinnie or a Pique. The two GKs we're linked with are both immense. Maffeo is our long term right back, but we need an elite left back. Over the last 8 years, only Zaba and Vinnie have been truly elite defenders. Joleon, Micah great pros - Micah could have been an elite defender.

How can people blame pep for the players not being able to make a simple pass???? That entire first half the players gave the ball away every chance they could get. One touch in their penalty box the entire first half is not peps fault

Sadly some players, not for the first time, have been found wanting and in patches it was not too disimilar to Madrid last year. The failure to retain the ball and make the correct decisions in that first half was shocking.

Still we know were not there yet and certain players failings get magnified in games like this. Our Achilles heel this year has been in both boxes and the fact some players are scared to take responsibility.

Nope, the second half proved that it wasn't tactical, the players did not turn up. Simple as that. No amount of tactical sabotage or error can lead to that kind of first half performance with the quality of players in the squad. It is obvious.

The mentality of the players in the first half was just horrible and that is profoundly disappointing.

I think you missed us almost playing a back 3 in the second half, with clichy given license to bomb on. The first half saw a back line that invited the opposition on, we needed a pivot who could retain the ball, the answer to that was playing KDB deeper in the second half.... pep fucked up massively over leaving yaya out..

You can't have a central pair of stones and AK if they are boxed in due to nobody being in the hole...

Regardless though, big so called players went walkabout.... again

Yet the same players played better 2nd half. So i would put it down to the players not being at it, from the start.

I think he made a slight tactical change which helped and they were knackered but god that first half was all wrong from everyone. He should have hooked de Bruyne after 20 mins.

I'm struggling to see how our wank passing, Aguero missing opportunities and the defence falling asleep is Pep's fault ?

Pep's fault was playing De Bruyne in a more advanced role & not playing Otamendi imo. Otamendi is shite but he's better than Stones & Kolarov.
