Monaco - Post Match thread.

We have had plenty of time and money to address that issue and we bought players that we have either loaned out (Zinchenko, Moreno etc etc) aren't good enough (Bravo) and we haven't bought a decent defender in 6 years. 6! How can that not be an issue? Zabs - finished, Sagna - shite, Stones - work in progress, Komps - perma sick, Ota - not good enough, Clichy - always been rubbish, Kola - gets a reprieve as he's doing ok at CB but woeful at LB. sort it out city.

You're wrong - and certainly don't speak for me.
Pep's had ONE window - the problems above relate to the Pelle & Mancine eras. But you blamed Pep in your earlier post & said he'd been found out. Give him some time like fans at other nearby clubs give their new managers

You were arrogant as fuck after first leg when I just came nicely to discuss and follow Man City's results and analysis of their fans.
We knocked you out by caming back from a 2 goal-deficit without Falcao and Glik, you should learn a lesson from that instead keep being a dush.

Yes, i'm a "smug ****" with people like you, cause karma is a woman :)

I refer you to my previous answer. It's still fuck off.

And you absolutely didn't come along 'nicely' to discuss anything after the 1st leg. You came to chat patronising shit about how poor you'd been and how under strength you'd been and how we'd underestimated you and all manner of other one eyed bollocks. If you truly believe a manager as meticulous in his research as Pep would not know how good a side that has scored 124 goals this season and beat Spurs home and away is, then you're an even bigger twat than I gave you credit for. Nobody wanted you on here then, nobody wants you on here now, and yet here you are. There's only one reason for that and it's because you're a smug navel-gazing bellend with little real knowledge of the game, who just wants to give himself a little stiffy by wumming and crowing.
The truth is we handed you that game on a plate last night with the team selection and set up, and once we rectified that tactical abomination at half time, you spent the 2nd half on the rack just as you did at the Etihad. Sadly it was too little too late after that car crash of an opening 45.

Whatever enjoy your little wank whilst you can. Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Mendy, Fabinho, they'll all be gone next season.

Now do as you were told last night and fuck off.

I'm sure that 2 new pacey full backs who can actually ping a ball in (Mendy&Sidibe) would solve the majority of our problems. The amount of times the CB's have to cover our full backs lack of pace or intelligence is ridiculous, Stones was being pulled into the wing every time because Sagna was being rinsed. In an attacking sense as well the full backs would massively help us attack, just imagine Zaba's runs with some pace. I just feel Pep has been massively hamstrung by the fact he has 4 full backs with less than a year left on their contract. There's always next year anyway lol

As much as our second-half performance improved, and in all honesty it only could, I was puzzled at how far Monaco's level dropped in the second half. It was as if the wind had been taken out of their sails and they couldn't seem to move. A second goal would have killed it. However, a victory would only have added another layer of paper over some already glaring problems.

Much like the rest of your post, this is a ridiculous overreaction. He's had a few poor games in a row now, but it's March and he has 10 assists (our best), 5 goals and makes 5 key passes leading to goal scoring opportunities per game, among the best in Europe.

Has it? Speak for yourself.

We're second in the league, what the fuck are you talking about?

Total bullshit, we didn't beat a top team last season at all and we've already managed it under Pep.

He's made players like Silva and Sterling, who were horrendous last season, much, much better.

If you don't see any improvement then you mustn't be paying attention.

Joe isn't doing that great in Torino, sorry to tell you buddy. Already has a worse shots stopped per goal record than Willy.

lol nah. Pellers was around not that long ago, or have you forgotten how we limped to fourth on goal difference with some of the most shockingly drab performances we've seen post-take over?

Mancini had prime Aguero who wasn't missing sitters like he's been doing all season, but I'd still argue that Sane-Jesus-Sterling make for some of the most exciting football I've seen this side of Barcelona.

He's had one window and Txiki didn't get the people he wanted?

The club supports him, why don't you?

I'm going to be starting the Guardiola song a lot on Sunday at the Etihad, just for you. <3

Well said. Top response. Unlike some on here mate YOU are a BLUE who knows what he's talking about - understands football & doesn't have a stupid childish knee jerk reaction.

I think the result last night is the cons of the way Pep wants his teams to play. When his style and tactics work it looks stunning to watch but the other side of the coin is just as spectacularly crap. We either score for fun and dominate or we leak goals like a sieve or sometimes both! Lets face it the home leg sent Monaco through. Three away goals deserves to go through Imo. Our defence is far to fragile for all out attack both mentally and technically. We have got it right on occasion and looked fantastic so it's not the tactics. It's the personell? Against younger, faster, hungrier players with fantastic motivation we struggle. Tottenham and Monaco prove that. I also think last night particularly first half we looked fatigued and only second wind and adrenaline and desperation changed it second half. Also I'm convinced Gabby jesus buries two, at least, of Agueros chances. Serg and sterling were guilty of poor decisions and it cost us a lack of goals. We need younger, fresher players in key positions then we will be able compete better against them.
