Most Memorable Boxing Day City Match

1977 v Newcastle we won 4-0 and I Certain Mr Mr Bell came on in the Second Half
The place exploded and I recall he nearly scored at the North Stand
I was off my seat as I thought it was in ,only an inch or so above the bar

Not my favourite game but memorable after being hit by a bottle on the back of the head from Geordies at the back of the Platt Lane.. was only a kid at the time

Boxind Day 88 Stoke away, Old Victoria ground. 12000 City, 10000 bananas. Such fun: )
All sorts of fancy dress everywhere with Santas standing in line behind us with my little nephew asking awkward questions why there was more than one Father Christmas.
A disabled young bloke (called Tony l think) being carried up the steps by his mates but being heartily booed for being dressed up on a full ref's kit.
And a load of bleeding beer and a bleeding good time in the Bleeding Wolf on the way there and back.

From memory did Kevin Bond take it or was it Kevin Reeve's
Bond took it. First goal was Asa, 3rd was Reeves. Whelan scored theirs

Incidentally lots of spaces in the stands with the only jam packed bit being the away corner

Boxing Day is my birthday the 2 games that stand out for me are the Colin Bell come back game 1977 my 16th and 1981 Liverpool away won 3-1 sat in the kemlyn
Rd that day brilliant 3rd by Kevin Reeves.

Stoke city 1999 losing at half time came back to win 2 1 I think. Whole ground rocking in the second half, start of a long unbeaten run which eventually saw us in the play offs. Came off feeling ridiculously optimistic for the first time since the opening day win over Blackpool.

Agreed

This was the game the club became one again

Fans, players, manager and directors all pulling in the same direction

Was proud to be a blue that day which obviously was in short measures in previous years

1998-99 I think gerrard weikens header away at Wrexham totally changed our season and Manchester City football club from that moment!!

An old man's memory, thought Wrexham the Saturday before Christmas and Stoke boxing day, but realised I am mixed up. Andy Morrisons debut at Oldham around then as well, all in all a good Christmas that year.
