Most underrated City player ever?

I may well have blue tinted specs on when I think about City in the 60s, but I really don't remember David Connor ever having a bad game. As I recall, he was one of Joe Mercer's favourite players.

As for Neil Young; if anyone from that era deserved a statue, it was Neil.
I recall going to a mid-week match away at Ipswich. I assume it must have been an FA Cup game. We were in the pub after the match talking to some Ipswich supporters. We were gushing about Bell and Summerbee. The Ipswich supporters were unanimous that Neil Young was by far the best player for City.

Dave Connor. Think he played every position except goal keeper. Don't remember him ever letting us down

Johnny Crossan was one of my favourites.

The key match was during the 1965-66 promotion season. City were neck and neck with Huddersfield and they played at Maine Road on New Years Day. Crossan scored with a superb diving header that was captured throughout Fleet Street. Mike Doyle added a second.

That gave City the edge that they never lost. Huddersfield were eventually pushed back to 4th place behind City, Southampton, and Coventry.

David Silva, I know we love him and we do not underrate him but the media in this country and other supporters did. I once had a raging argument with a Dipper as they were convinced that Coutinho was better... will leave that nugget there
