Pen yes Red card no way.
Agreed. Not even sure it'd warrant a yellow card.
I'd agree. For me it was a foul in the box - so penalty - but it wasn't dangerous or even reckless and wasn't denying a shot at goal. It was just a stumble into Edin and it brought him down. No card needed.

Yes, penalty, no card. Disappointed that they didn't show the second one because I couldn't make my mind up at the game . Also they didn't show what should have been a penalty for Aguero after he refused to go down after being fouled. A lesson that other players could learn from.

A lot of people have been saying Suarez dived today. It was as much of a penalty as Young's (not awarded) was for the shite against Spurs, i.e. both should have been penalties but Young's got a reputation for diving and Suarez has errrrrm... got the same reputation.

I posted once in a thread with regards to penalties and red cards, I can't believe that any penalty should result in red unless it is for serious foul or dangerous play.

I know pundits and commentators spout the usual spiel about being denied a goal scoring opportunity.......but a foul resulting in a pen isn't actually denying a goal scoring chance. It gives the attacking team a free shot at goal from 12 yards, with the keeper on his line, and no chance of the penalty taker being challenged by a defender.

How much of a goal scoring chance do you want?

Is Murphy doing a tribute vocal impersonation of Lawro? I've looked up from work 3 times expecting to see Lawro.

-- Jan 18th, '14, 23:28 --

the one you would have had, sometimes clean through round the keeper before being hauled down by a defender/keeper knowing they won't get sent off under your rules so will go for the chance of saving the penalty.

know where you're coming from mate, and it is a moot point. To be fair I would much rather see a yellow issued as opposed to a red.......all my opinion though, and that's what football is all about for us fans.

Did I see that right ??!?!
Small print on one of the back pages " moyes : we can win the league "
Maybe I imagined it !

Having just watched the programme, I actually feel sorry for the defender (Caulker, I think) who was up against Sergio for the fourth goal; the poor fucker didn't know which way to turn!

They're not even the best team in their postcode.

Real Madrid - 9 European cups. United - 3. That is that really.
