Children children, calm yourselves please! Some of you are heading for a pre-Christmas stroke at this rate! I watched the 'offending' MOTD last night and guess what? O big deal, Hansen was being critical... oh boo-bloody-hoo!! TBH I thought he made a couple of valid points and the whinging on here is making some of you sound like those horrible nited 'fans' we've put up with for years who appear to have some sense of 'entitlement' that their team is above criticism!!

The fact is children we have been brittle away from home all season and if we expect to win the title on home form alone we are sadly going to be very disappointed come May; goal difference might count but points will count more! We have serious issues at the center of our back 4, relying as we do on Kompany being fit - and Zabba to a slightly lesser extent, without whom we appear to go into a state of absolute panic the minute an opposition forward gets near our box! Demachellis is bloody slow - on that point Hansen was spot on with the evidence to back it up! We might also add that he did admit that City are a "joy to watch", which is true but it will be a shame if in may the epitaph for our season was "they were a joy to watch... but didn't win a league that was there for the taking!".

The fact is children we have been brittle away from home all season

4 wins and 1 draw from our last 5 away games says you are wrong. 3 CL away wins says you are wrong. You are naively falling for the media / press mythology. Ironically you refer to the posters in this thread as 'children'.

Further, re Demechelis - Hansen attempted a 'hatchet job' on him and failed miserably. He selected one or two 'mistakes' and proceeded to draw the conclusion that they were indicative of MDM's overall performance. In reality you could do that for any given player over a 90+ minute period and find poor bits of play. MDM actually had a very commanding and intelligent game and imo played really well. MDM has intelligence and an abundance of 'football brain' and therefore his 'slowness' will very rarely be a thing of concern.

It was pretty clear though that Lineker was faintly amazed at the analysis solely focusing on the defence - his last comment that he spent the whole match complaining said it all. The thing was it wasn't a bad analysis in itself, it's just that not mentioning the four goals scored or the quality of them was perverse.

A familiar pattern seems to form on here. Posters highlight media bias. Some posters deny it. Posters prove there is and show examples. Some posters then say, "who gives a fuck".

According to Alan Hansens, uncyclopedia page he once had sex with a donkey. A story doubt but the full story rings true.

It is also reported that Alan Hansen had sex with a donkey in 2004. This is a claim which he has strongly denied and a short video clip of the incident is inconclusive as it only shows footage of some hairy (possibly animal) legs and Hansen's thrusting buttocks and face shouting "Atrocious defending. You left the box right open. NOW you'll be punished".

other reported facts

MOTD needs to take a leaf out of Goals On Sundays book, they are fair and do not seem to have an agenda for or against anybody, Kammy is a star

Jimmy Floyd is lost on Belgian football he should be in England somewhere

MOTD doesn't have time to focus on things like Goals on Sunday.

Don't know why people are getting their lingerie in a twist. They said we were brilliant. They used the time to point out defensive lapses which is pretty much what people wrote in the match day and post match thread.

If you want to see a programme that has more time to focus on things, watch Goals on Sunday.

As for the comparison between Suarez and Dzeko. Go to the Dzeko thread and read the comments, what Hansen said was tame compared to the stuff on there.

They said we were brilliant.

It's a conspiracy!!!

Once upon a time, in a football League not too far away, there were the Big Four, the most successful and most supported teams in the land, with one the most famous club in the world!

Everyone was happy, the clubs made lots of dosh and the media made loads of money peddling stories to their eager punters, always keen to watch, listen and read about the Big Four teams and their rivals....This went on for a very long time.

Then along came a very small team, suddenly rich and suddenly very gifted on the field, with a small worldwide following, they had some success and broke in to the top four.

Gloom descended on the land, very little money was generated with positive stories about this upstart! What was worse was that one of the top four "The Big One" fell out of the reckoning, and they were the biggest by far! To make matters worse the team that ousted them was located in the same city, nominally their rivals, but never recognised as such by "The Big One" who preferred to think that their real derby rivals were just down the M62.

Lots of politicking took place, pundits wailed and gnashed their teeth, agendas were set and scripts were read, the little upstart was damned with faint praise, victories were belittled, shortcomings amplified.

It all got very silly and became more and more ludicrous, until eventually only the die hard fans of the old big four believed it, and even they began to have doubts...then it happened!!

To be continued....

Yeah, Alan Hansen giving a shit analysis proves conclusively that the media is biased against Manchester City. Of course.
