I remember it because I was in the pub and missed most of the highlights till the channel was changed because BBC hadn't bothered to ensure I was notified that they would be doing a MOTD special.

Ours was a rearranged fixture, so i'm guessing Sunderland's was last night, too. Not sure about the other matches this week. I don't think MOTD have ever disrupted a scheduled TV line up for a handful of rearranged fixtures? The Monday ones in circumstances of the Derby 2 years ago is a continuation of that weekends games.

I believe that their contract with the premier league says there must be a minimum amount of midweek games for a midweek MOTD to be shown. I think it is 6, so out of the BBC's hands.

The matches that the 2 League Cup finalists should have played the weekend of the final assume Arse and Everton were the FAC 6th round tie weekend games

Surprisingly positive stuff all round by Hansen, I guess he's in a good mood. It has to be said though, MOTD's version of analysis is truly awful, they don't actually really even mention the game, very rarely even show the goals and it's more just random opinions about whether they are good or bad results. Waste of time

I think waste of time is too far, but I know what you mean. I will always watch it as I have for donkey's years. It needs an overhaul though.
