Mourinho or Mancini

They'll have to keep wishing mate. I don't see Klopp going to Madrid full stop. Low is a possibility but not until after the World Cup in 2014 ... if I were a betting man I'd say Benitez will pitch up there in the summer if he isn't kept on by Chelsea. If it isn't him it'll be someone from within the Spanish league and will most certainly be someone who is Spanish. Whoever thought Madrid would want Mancini needs their head testing.

Benitez might not be bad option for them, I rate Benitez, he's very good manager.

I think he'll be the perfect "safe" pair of hands after the Mourinho show. Odd club. People criticise Chelsea for the way Roman runs it, but frankly, Madrid is the most ridiculously run big club in the world.

Frankly, Spain in the most ridiculously run big country in the world. ;)

I think Bunga Bunga Silvio and his compadres might give the Spaniards a run for their money ... ;)

Trust me, the Spanish State makes the Italians seem positively teutonic. Nepotism based on family and friends rather than organised crime. Cuddly corruption at its very best...

To be honest I don't know enough about the way either country is run beyond what I read in newspapers or a very insightful documentary BBC2 did on Bunga Bunga Berlo ....

EDIT:

Which by the way you must watch if it's available on youtube or the iPlayer.

Madrid are like one of those Middle Age ruler's palaces. There are tons of intrigues, influence fights behind the scene and public voice has too much influence on how the club would be run and in what direction it would move. It's hard to run a business appropriate in such conditions.

As much as people would think, it's not too different in Barcelona too, they have their fair share of intrigues and power fights, one of the reasons Guardiola left was that he was Laporte man and never lived comfortably with Rossell. Good thing for them is that they managed to make success with their youth program and are currently enjoying the best generation it ever produced. Otherwise, it's similar stuff.

It's usually like that when it's not a strictly private business unless you're robotic disciplined and responsible society like Germany.

I agree Barca have their fare share of political bullshit. You need only look at the gestation of Rossel and Laporta's relationship to see that. Personally I'm really tired of the whole Barca "more than a club" bullshit as well. Really that country desperately needs someone to fuck up their collective hegemony over the rest of the league.

Going back to Mourinho, can you envisage a scenario under which he remains at Madrid beyond this season ?

Will try to have a look.

Back to the point, RM and Barca are national institutions and so laws unto themselves incomparable with any other sporting clubs in the world. But I enjoy my time in Andalucia and the Spanish have a quirky if annoying charm, whereas I hated Milan and Sr Bunga Bunga is an utterly disgusting excuse for a human being.

No, I think it's beyond repair. One you lose the Madrid fans, you don't get them anymore. Media attacks on Mourinho are ordered from Perez and co. too and he's dead man walking imo.

Me too ... Barcelona is probably my favourite get away in Europe ... lots of friends and even some family there. Italy is ... well I hate generalising, but it's an incredibly racist place and me and my missus didn't feel comfortable or welcome in too many places for us to consider going back anytime soon.

-- Mon Jan 07, 2013 3:47 pm --

It's going to be very funny if Mourinho manages to win the CL ... but yes i do tend to agree with that assessment. He'd have gone last summer if he hadn't won the league. I've heard whispers that there were attempts from within the club to sabotage the run to the title just to get Mourinho out.

He's going to come back to England a returning hero. Personally I look forward to his return to the league as I've always liked him and I think he brings a certain humour into our game which is sadly lacking.

Can I just say out loud once more in the vain hope that someone who matters reads this forum. When Mancini goes, forget Mourinho and forget Pep, move heaven and earth to get Jurgen Klopp. :)
