We can create an immense atmosphere though as we have proved! Why not make every game like hamburg or arsenal? because fulham at home doesnt capture the imagination of a game like hamburg or arsenal! and even if we had a full south stand for a game like that, it wouldnt be anywhere near as good as hamburg!

Fans are more up for the 'bigger games' hence a better atmosphere all around the ground...the arsenal game people in the east stand 3rd tier were stood up singing which very rarely happens.

I honestly cant get my head around the point of moving the away fans

But we've also proved that we hardly ever do it.

The massive games will always look after themselves.

It's the lesser games which needs to improve.

They're not all going to be like Hamburg of course, but the odd loud song wouldn't go amiss.

i agree lesser games need to improve, but there is no reason whatsoever why it cant improve as things are now if we can create the atmosphere.

its not just us that have the problem with lesser games, the world famous kop and stretford end (which are a full stand of singers and are suppose to be famous for atmosphere) dont really blow the roof off against 'lesser' teams either. And in my honest opinion a full south stand of city fans wouldnt improve it that much if at all against lesser teams.

Hence why i can't get my head around the idea of moving the away fans to improve atmosphere

We're going round in circles, Conner.

We will not create an atmosphere any better unless things change.

2 little singing areas working against each other is counter-productive, I think.

Anyway, good debate, be interesting to see what happens. If we win something this year there will certainly be some noise!!!!!

true mate true, it will be interesting, but unless its a massive vote in favour of moving the away fans i cant see it happening.

Definite no from me on this. I fail to see how moving the away fans and inconveniencing thousands of fans at the same time will make any improvement to the atmosphere. The south stand and singing section are now settling as the place to be and to me it seems the one end thing comes from other areas of the ground that feel we owe it to get them involved some how. I'm afraid it is up to other areas of the ground to get in to it as they did against Hamburg and do on occasion in other games, this is nothing to do with the South Stand or singing section getting them involved, it is just because they can be arsed for certain games.

Leave it as it is and let the singing section and south stand grow, rather than dismantle the only decent areas we have, and as I have said before there are three sides with no away fans, so the club could organise fans to volunteer to move into a designated area for the one end, I bet it would fall on its arse in the first season as I know of no other south standers or singing section fans would move from their seats next to the away fans and constant banter to a block which would fall silent after the third rendition of blue moon.

I do sit next to the away fans in the south stand and if this ever got the go ahead I would expect first refusal on any seats next to where they plan to move the away fans to.

i think the atmosphere is a bi product of us moving the away fans just a touch to the side of the south stand and us all being one. the only reason i want to move them is to eliminate their quite obvious advantage they get now.
