It just goes to show what poor language might do though eh? Many people blamed the rhetoric around Brexit on the murder of Jo Cox, I don't really see how this is any different.

Anyway, not one to bring politics here, we don't know the facts and a man has been killed completely needlessly, it's just extremely sad.

We don't know enough yet to know if it's any different. We know that Jo Cox's killer was a far right perpetrator who shouted "Britain First" as he attacked in her the week before the Brexit vote

If it transpires that a leftist is behind the attack on him shouting "Tory scum" then you may have a point but for now it's a huge reach to try pin any of this horrible news onto Angela Rayner.

They are very vulnerable at those surgeries they hold in their constituencies. No security for 99% of them, and there's a lot of people with grievances out there, some probably with "issues".

Here Here , nobody deserves to have their life ended in this way serving their constituents whether effectively or not.

Let's see, it doesn't actually matter who did it but the fact it's an MP means this was probably political. With that we can still examine ourselves, how we behave and the language that we do or do not support.

Whilst I, first off, offer condolences to the family of the MP, shall we just wait and see what happened with the perpetrator, rather than stack blame at Rayner's door for using a word?

A man who went to work has died whilst on duty. No one should have that done to them, or any family should ever receive such tragic news.

This thread should be about the person, not the politics and it's sickening some have dived in to point scoring without acknowledging a man who's served his constituents well for 40 odd years had been murdered for doing his job as a public servant.
