I think it's deeper than that. This is an attack on an elected official, it's an attack on democracy. We live in a country where MPs hold surgeries to keep in touch with their constituents and this may have to be rethought with a second MP in 5 years being killed. That's depressing as hell. I agree with every word of your second paragraph.A man who went to work has died whilst on duty. No one should have that done to them, or any family should ever receive such tragic news.
This thread should be about the person, not the politics and it's sickening some have dived in to point scoring without acknowledging a man who's served his constituents well for 40 odd years had been murdered for doing his job as a public servant.
