Peter Spencer can fuck off, the victory wasn't tarnished at all. I heard fuck all Munich chants and can only assume it was a select bunch of dicks. Is every victory going to be supposedly tarnished from now on because a small minority sing Munich sons (just as they always have done). Lazy Shite journalism

whats out of order is your hatred and bile filled post aimed at fellow city fans....now thats a disgrace

and the irony in this post is astounding...you call people for singing about munich, but quite clearly have no problem in using terms like idiot & wankers

Manchester City's hard-fought 2-1 victory over West Ham was tarnished by a section of hardcore Blues fans again persisting with vile Munich chants.

They ignored manager Roberto Mancini, the club’s hierarchy and legends Colin Bell, Tony Book and Mike Summerbee to carry on the chants about the 1958 tragedy that claimed the lives of 23 people, including eight of the famous Busby Babes.

Summerbee even went so far as to pen his plea in the West Ham match programme.

Club ambassador Summerbee wants the supporters to self-manage the issue, writing: “Please, if you know anyone who sings these songs implore them to stop.”

He said there was no place in the City song book for the “hideous” chants which are not worthy of the great fans who won worldwide acclaim by the way they commemorated the disaster’s 50th anniversary at Old Trafford in 2008.

But a small number of sick supporters ignored him and all the other ex-players and club officials by chanting that they are Manchester City and they will sing what they want before chanting: “Who Put the ball in the Munichs’ net ... Yaya” in reference to City’s FA Cup semi-final win at Wembley

Topics like this only give attention to the Munich chants.

Is there really nothing else that you are thinking about today that you could have contributed?

It needs highlighting. Other option is to bury your head in the sand.

Re: The club should start banning them..

If, as a set of supporters we really want to stop the Munich chants we will. Drown them out, tell them to stop and eventually they will end. And yesterday, despite that article it was clear that was starting to happen. The way the 'Tayayaya Toure' song was sung over the top of "who put the ball in the Munich's net' was exactly how things will change. People won't bother starting songs if nobody will join in with them.

I don't think bans are the way to tackle this properly.

Re: The club should start banning them..

The stories in the paper aren't going to change the minds of the people that feel they need to use the word, best they drop it and lve the crowd to manage it like the did on the weekend.

Toure Munich song drowned out by the majority singing the other Toure song. Problem solved, the responsibility now is for those that don't want the songs heard to drownnthem
out with better ones.

Carlos Tevez is a blue. Who put the ball in the Munich net, both songs that a lot of people wont join in. He'll, I don't even sing hark now hear because I know what comes at the end of it (but was pleasantly surprised on the weekend when it didn't).

Just a case of coming up with better alternatives and drowning out the idiots.

Re: The club should start banning them..

Its mainly kids and shall we say a few who are a little below an average level of IQ. I have seen them a few times outside 110 just near the programme seller. They also chanted a rather stupid song about Robhino when he had that problem in Leeds. The Club know who they are and its only a matter of time if they persist.
