I’m going to say George Harrison his slide guitar is heaven but No 1 is John Squire 3rd would be little Barrie, Barrie Cadogan (primal scream) I can’t stop now thinking of all the brilliant guitarist’s there have been so many of them.

Too many to name I had 2 lists and after had another 4-5 who came into my head and I was thinking ffs ..Top man Gary Moore lived round the corner from me when I was a kid my brother hung about with him for a while then he discovered the guitar..

My favourite 10 is relatively easy but there are quite a lot of candidates for the last couple of places. Almost all the people on my long list are rock guitarists.

Binned off the idea of going for a single genre so i've got three rock guitarists in my longlist but at least one of them will have to be binned off I think if not two. My #1 will sort of qualify too cause he's king of fusing pretty much anything though I'll be pleasantly surprised if he gets in the overall top 20.

Be interesting to see how many people plump for people known predominantly for playing acoustic. Think I'll probably end up with two.

I remember you saying that on another thread about him mate.
he was above all.
His emotional playing was above Gilmour and that takes some doing.
The best of the best IMO
Probably my Irish heritage comes into play,but there is no better.
