My first " car" was an 2nd hand Morris Thousand van from Vanland in Ancoats.
(we are talking late 1960's here - it had a starting handle! ( google it youngsters)
Oh happy days. My first was a Morris Minor 1000, cost £75, had to pay my dad back £5 week. It also had a starting handle and in the winter I had to put a paraffin sump heater under it to keep the oil from thickening up. That's when we had proper winters kids.

So this year I will be looking to buy my first car. I want something a bit different so not a corsa or fiesta. Budget of 6k max. Anyone got any suggestions
What was your first car?

So what's wrong with Fiestas?? :-)

I've driven Fiestas for over 20 years and the only time I decided to go different and got a VK Polo I had nothing but trouble with it and within 15 months had got rid and went back to a Fiesta. Great car and can be made to be different if you want to.

Fiesta 1.1 popular was my first car, i stamped on the floor once and it fucking went through xD so yeah that was the end of that.

100 quid it cost me.

Ford Capri.

One morning I discovered that it had been nicked. The wife and I danced around the living room with joy. After reporting it to the police we set off to the bus stop to go to work. Walked round the corner and found it at the side of the road 100 yards from home. The gear stick had come away (it had a habit of doing that) so the thieves had abandoned it. Pig sick.

Austin Maxi 1500. Cost £50 from a bloke who worked with my step-dad at Granada TV.

Every time I went over a bump, the back seat collapsed into the boot. Great laugh.

I bet that was fun having a bird in the back seat

I'm 23 and passed my test when I was 17. Never had a car, don't interest me in the slightest. Rather spend my money on going out and holidays.

so why did you do the test
