My theory on rising prices of everything

Free market capitalism always leads to what we are seeing at present

this is a cyle of profiteering. econmies going to shit, recovery, lack of learning from the capitalist elite and repeating the same bollocks.

corporatism and capitalism go hand in hand and always leads to inequality, market failure, enviromental damaging quick fixes, short-termism,materialism and wealth hoarding, and the resulting boom amd bust economic cycle.
You could be right, but what alternative would you suggest?

Taking on the old is risky because they entered into a deal with various government, give us your cash and we will look after you on this deal, to then change that when you are old is a cunts trick, my dad couldnt go back to work even if he wanted to. If they want to get rid of the cost of pensions then say in 2030 anyone who enters the work place will not have a state pension so in 60 years you’ll have to provide for yourself, by then everyone else will have died and there will be no burden on the state, except people won’t save and will end up destitute, therefore they will be a burden.

as a species we haven't evolved past the present system or towards a future more egalitarian mindset where some don't want to horde money or power.

stuck with the this shitshow cycle of economics for a while

Thanks for the reply and I wish you a long and happy retirement, just as I hope to have.
However, I honestly don’t think the old are easy targets at all. Far from it; demographically they are an ever increasing proportion of the population- and they exercise their vote in massive numbers relative to younger voters. Anyone who takes on the elderly does so at their peril imho!
Surprisingly, given the number of FOC on here, I find Blue Moon a little ageist. We often get blamed for Brexit, the Tory Government, the state of the economy because 'everyone' has retired, the strain on the NHS.....
none of which I personally contributed to so sorry for being a little sensitive. I hardly think we can be criticised for being more politically engaged than young uns' either ;-)

Having said all that, I have a lot of sympathy for those trying to building a family, get on the housing ladder, succeed in a career in this environment. My granddaughter had just started secondary school when covid hit. The impact it has had on her and her peers education and mental health is incalculable and that will have further ramifications for the future.

We really do need a new broom at the next election. The Starmer version of 'Tory light' will not fix the country. Only a pioneering, intelligent reset of values and policies that moves away from this nations failed version of capitalism will start to unwind the damage done of the last 15 years. What I do know is that 99% of us are in this mess together and pointing the finger at any category of the population is not going to fix things.

have a good one mate.

Inflation is due to the Uk And USA just printing sh1tloads of money to pay for furlough etc. Since the £ is backed by fresh air the more that is in circulation means the less it is worth..which is what we have now..

This was a problem for Japan in decades gone by. They printed extra money for around 15 years in an attempt to aid their own economy but it didn’t work.

Japan’s debt-to-GDP ratio is the worst in the world.

There’s really only the USA and us who chase this naked profiteering for the benefit of a very small group of individuals, at the expense of the masses. Look at Scandinavia and most of Europe, there’s more than a nod to society and the people in it.
I often go to Europe, in particular to Spain, and it’s just cleaner with people seemingly giving a shit about their community. No betting shops, no charity shops, no food banks, no ambulances backing up outside hospitals, older people not treated as a burden but respected.
Whatever we’re currently doing, it’s failing on every level.

I agree about the results but I am not sure how we get there.
Firstly, we are much poorer than our European neighbours, especially away from London a d SE.
I Worked extensively right across Europe and there was a much more community minded spirit. High taxes were not seen as a problem. We don’t here have any party that advocates a Scandinavian type system.
Maybe it’s a culture change that is required, the hardest thing to do, whether as a country or a company or, dare I say it, a health service.( I worked for the NHS for a while, the culture was poor imho.)
