Just wondering if the 'No Excuses' peeps will accept my excuse of being at work. Please let me know if this isn't acceptable. If it is not I will immediately renounce my 'Blueness' so that other (& obviously better) fans do not have to put up with me any longer.

Wag it or throw a sickie.

Seriously though, it's obvious that the "no excuses" brigade aren't having a pop at people like yourself or others with genuine reasons for not being able to get to the game. It's aimed at those who simply can't be arsed or would sooner watch it down the pub and spend the same amount or more on alcohol as they would on a ticket for the game.

This is a landmark fixture and ticket prices are more than reasonable for both adults and kids (cheaper than Wigan even) and I can't see how anyone that is in a position where they can get to this game would not want to be there.

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

Exactly!

I'll be at our first Champions league home game, and our first away game for that matter.

Wild horses would'nt stop me either!

Perhaps now the panic is over we could put our efforts into making it a fantastic night for the club and it's supporters. Blow up pizza's anyone ????

Tickets are on general sale and are only available to supporters who previously purchased tickets for a game at the Etihad Stadium.

hmmmmmm ........... concerns over Neapolitan's in our end maybe ???

(first ice cream joke wins a lolly)

Re: 28k (ish) for Napoli?

Ive got my ticket and my lads in the family stand. Checked online and we are sat amongst rows of empty seats. I cant understand it. They have even stopped selling the top tier just to try and fill the lower ones.

People say they cant make it for various reasons but I bet if this was a midweek league game we would still get 45k+.

I think some sesoncard holders just can't be arsed getting cup tickets.

Hopefully things will pickup over the weekend or it could be embarassing

Marketing ploy or not? The seat planner is showing shit loads of tickets still available in both tiers of the North Stand, but virtually all other areas of the first and second tiers are showing as sold out or very limited availability. I don't know what's going on with the third tier because earlier in the week there were loads of available seats in there too, particularly going towards the back of the stand where there were whole rows of seats showing as available, but now the thrid tier isn't available on the seat planner. I can't see how that many could've been shifted in the last couple of days but you never know.
