We need 2 playmakers to supplement the squad. We rely far to heavily on Silva to create the end product, and often struggle to create when he is off the pitch.

We don't necessarily need a wide man, its not that important because we get our width from our overlapping fullbacks, Richards just needs plenty of work on his crosses.
With attacking players like Silva, Aguero and Nasri, they will pull defenders all over the place with their intelligent movement and intricate passing, creating mayhem.
Once Nasri is signed, the final piece of the jigsaw would be a "Sneijder/Modric/Gerrard" type of deep playmaker who will continue driving the midfield forward, Milner could be that man???
We don't need 2 defensive midfielders in our set up, I'd say only against the better (Big 4 or 5), stronger, more physical sides.

If we bought Mata, I would move Silva into a deeper role.
 
Fabregas is on a flight to Barca tonight , I wonder if this means we will see movement on the Nasri deal soon.

Is he all that good really? will he add so much more to our side than other cheaper options say a goetze,mata,hazard etc..? He has prem experience alright, but why cant we get (one of)those and make him a winner like silva,kompany,NDJ,zaba? They were all good in other leagues and now successful in prem league. I have a feeling that these players are more loyal to city than "proven" players like bellamy,Ade or even tevez(sorry to say so)

yes, he is that good. he was close to being player of the season last year, carried arse at times.

look at how poor they were without him and fabregas! problems there.

Arsenal announces today that they have reached an agreement in principle with Barcelona for Cesc Fabregas to move to Spain.

It signals the end of the midfielder's eight-year spell at Arsenal. Fabregas joined the Club from Barcelona as a 16-year-old in September 2003 and made 303 appearances, scoring 57 goals in all competitions.

He holds the records for the youngest Arsenal first team player (16 years and 177 days v Rotherham United (h), 28 October 2003) and the youngest Arsenal first team goalscorer (16 years and 212 days v Wolves (h), 2 December, 2003).

Named as Arsenal Captain in November 2008, Fabregas also became a regular in the Spain national team, making 58 appearances to date.

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger said: "We have been clear that we didn't want Cesc to leave and that remains the case. However, we understand Cesc's desire to move to his home town club and have now accepted an offer from Barcelona. We thank Cesc for his contribution at Arsenal and wish him future success."

The transfer is subject to the completion of formal legal agreements and registration processes, together with Fabregas agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

Wenger will now tell Nasri he can play centrally in the hope this will make him stay - cant see it done any time soon
