I think my hatred of agents comes from Football Manager, many a time I have had a player well up for signing yet an agent demanding £12m, which my board wont pay, I therefore miss out on said player.

Must remember FM11 is not real life.
Lol!!! FM is gospel on here mate!!! ;-)

Isn't it?

so is it off????
No mate, agent fee to sort which am sure we will somehow and the rest is a formality.

exactly, the agents job is to get the very best deal for his player. You have to remember some of these agents have no shame at all and would not think twice about throwing a spanner in at the last minute to get something extra.

with the window closing soon he was always going to try it on.

keep the faith.

Never have I seen such a literal act of fair weather fan until today. How many Arsenal fans left the stands in the 60th minute because of the rain!? Embarrassing!

They were happy to pay those prices when they were winning but suddenly because they're looking shit they aren't happy.
They can obviously afford to go or the ground wouldn't have been full these last few years. The only difference is that they look like losing their place at the top table.
They are the very definition of fair weather fans. Glory hunting twats who are having a strop because Wenger's transfer policy isn't working. The same transfer policy that they've been bragging about for the last few years.

Fair weather, glory hunting cunts.

I take your point to an extent but I do think when a club goes down the route of fleecing the supporters to that extent then the whole thing then relies on the team being successful. Basically charging 80 quid a seat tests a fan's loyalty and that doesn't surprise me at all.

The prices they charge are ridiculous but when they were winning they were happy to pay it.
We've had it rammed down our throats that Arsenal are doing it the right way. If fleecing fans and selling your best players and replacing them with kids is the right way then fuck knows what the wrong way is.
If they had moaned about the prices when things were looking rosy on the pitch, I would have had some sympathy for them.

Not much though.

Like I say, I take your point and I don't doubt there is a lot of truth in what you say but I can also see why an Arsenal supporter would be less loyal these days too and wouldn't personally judge them on it. It is bound to change the dynamic between the supporters and the club once the club have essentially taken the piss out of the support. If City started to charge that amount I reckon I'd probably demand success too (assuming I could still afford to go at all).

It's not the first time I have opinions on, then realised why I have said opinion is because of FM, like players not turning up for training in game makes them difficult in real life.

I also remember when the rags gave Freddy Adu a trial and I was convinced we had missed the boat and they had a real gemof a player because of FM.

All this with Nasri.......just thinking could there be some dealings going on over Modric...Ade with another player going to spurs. or is it just agent fee, cos Fri: it was all but done !

This is why I've carried on playing CM0102 till this day (has to be the best version surely?) - no worries over agents in that! It's possibly to make Oldham win the Champions League!

I'm sure when a player as good as Nasri is coming to contract extension time then he shouldn't need an agent, what does an agent do that Nasri couldn't do himself and keep all of his cash?

Arse- we would like to offer you £80k
Nasri's agent- I think he could get better elsewhere.

Why couldn't Nasri say that he could get better wages elsewhere without all the rigmarole?

The role of 'agent' really confuses me with contracts etc... I understand their involvement in transfers to some extent like Chelsea use Pini Zhavi a lot as a broker.
You are overestimating players intelligence and underestimate the intelligence of the people who run these huge clubs. We are talking about contract worth millions of pounds and very complicated contract. These footballers cant deal with that on their own. Also if nasri believes he can get more money....how does he contact City and tell them about his situation? Agents do all the dirty work behind the scenes to get their players the best deal...if its to play clubs against each other, then so be it.
