I think Wenger is playing us here, and to be honest he holds the cards.

He's got money to spend already from the Fabregas sale. He doesn't want to lose Nasri and his arrogance tells him is he stays, he has a whole year to work on him and convince him to sign a new contract. And he is in no rush.

So he can hold out for a ridiculous price, hoping money bags City will cave in and pay it. And if not, he doesn't really care. Either which way, he wins.

I can see us walking away from this. We will not be taken for mugs any more and with the spectre of FFPR hanging over everyone, we cannot afford to just throw money at it.

he stand to lose arsenal 20 odd mil how do arsenal win

don t you think theres the small matter of their star player cesc going on mon and do you think wenger and the execs at arse wanted to see nasri follow him a few days later? they are gutted and it doesn t look like they ve got much to placate the fans as yet!

stay cool blues, nasri in the squad has no bearing on the sale!

it would take a brave mgr to play him and risk an injury that could cock up the sale!!

If Nasri waited a year for his "dream move" to United he'd earn a mint from a signing-on fee and live his "dream".

= this latest piece from the rag-infested media is a complete and utter lie!

They can either sell him now and have £22 million to replace him or wait until the summer lose him anyway and have no money to replace him. They may have the fabregas money but £35 million is not going to be enough to even replace one of them let alone two.

It would be financial suicide to let him go for nothing.

I didnt say Arsenal win. Wenger will think he can persuade Nasri to sign a new contract some time over the next 12 months. During that time, he has the benefit of Nasri playing for Arsenal. And in the end, if he doesn't renew hid contract, Wenger hasn't lost any money has he. Arsenal have.

So it's no skin off Wengers nose either way. He holds out for stupid money from us, and either (a) we give it him = Wenger win. Or (b) we don't = he keeps Nasri for another year minimum = Wenger win.
