If Nasri waited a year for his "dream move" to United he'd earn a mint from a signing-on fee and live his "dream".

= this latest piece from the rag-infested media is a complete and utter lie!

Lets not forget if he stays for another year on his current salary he would stand to lose £7.5 million (£140k x 52 weeks) from lost earnings that the rags would have to make up in his next contract which would easily break their agreement with Rooney that he has to be the highest paid player.

I'm getting impatient but all the signs are this deal will happen.

Once the fans turn on a player, it's very difficult. You need everyone pulling in the same direction. They are not, they are in disarray. Wenger's plan on keeping Nasri was a fair one, but it has been undermined by his own supporters. And he is ultimately to blame as he has stoked their frustrations through his inactivity in the transfer market

It would be financial suicide to let him go for nothing.

Who says that would happen? In 6 months time, playing as the main man in the centre of midfield, starting every game, Nasri might decide he wants to renew his contract.

And regards "financial suicide", how much did we pay for RSC? My point is, sometimes plans go wrong. It doesn't mean we never make mistakes. Wenger might regret holding on to Nasri for another year, but that doesn't guarantee he won't try.

Can you tell me why Arsenal are negotiating with City if Wenger plans to keep him for 12 months?

Either this is a sham, or he is not in charge

Arsenal are just trying to get the best deal they can, them dragging this out hurts them more than it does us. Nasri will be a City player before the window closes. Don't believe a word that comes out of Arsenal, they were insisting Fabregas was going nowhere a week ago.

I think you need to rethink your figures mate.

He's already on £90,000 a week at Arsenal, the City deal is supposedly circa £150,000 a week... over a season that's just £3m to be made up.

I think.

-- Sat Aug 20, 2011 12:08 am --

I think Wenger is playing us here, and to be honest he holds the cards.

He's got money to spend already from the Fabregas sale. He doesn't want to lose Nasri and his arrogance tells him is he stays, he has a whole year to work on him and convince him to sign a new contract. And he is in no rush.

So he can hold out for a ridiculous price, hoping money bags City will cave in and pay it. And if not, he doesn't really care. Either which way, he wins.

I can see us walking away from this. We will not be taken for mugs any more and with the spectre of FFPR hanging over everyone, we cannot afford to just throw money at it.

With the greatest of respect mate, stop flapping!

It will play out as it needs to be played out.

You getting an ulcer isn't going to change anything!
