Nathan Ake

Do you think he'll be OK with that? I assume he could get first team opportunities elsewhere.
He'll probably be told he'll get an equal chance at competing with Laporte for that left sided spot.

And Pep will play him if he outperforms Laporte. Now we know Laporte is good (though lately he hasn't been so great), so it will be hard. But I'm sure Txiki is not gonna tell his agent, "yeah we want you to be a backup."

He'll compete and may the best man win. I'm sure Laporte will be the best man.

Yeah if Stones had concentration, pace, didn't get caught on the ball and didn't get injured every 5 minutes.

Bournmouth's position and goals against as well as watching tells me Ake isn't that much better.

I would have preferred if we swap Upamecano with Angelino. He has all the attributes of a great defender. Leipzig needs Angelino as much as we need Upamecano. Why can't we make that deal work by all means possible ?

Cuz the whole team can't keep the ball. Their press is shite. Shape—they don't have one. And their midfield is like an aged vagina; very roomy (;.

If our team left us so exposed defensively a la Bournemouth, not even Cannavaro could save us.

Im told constantly on here we cant defend either ;-)

Yeah, but for different reasons. We get caught out. Ake will be adequate for this when he plays as he is quick.

Bournemouth get properly played through. Very different.

I think there is a potentially huge upside to this. He's got a lot of the specific qualities that mean he could fit in like a glove.

I suspect he'd be rather error prone for us. That's my only immediate concern. But if he's reliable defensively and can bounce back from errors it shouldn't be something I worry about.

While Ake would be a good signing I really hope we buy a proper left back. None of the 3 players have really nailed down the position. If you contrast 3 with Robertson who is both an excellent defender and a real attacking threat, they are all deficient in different ways.

Mendy is the best of the 3 but still seems 75% of the player we signed in both attack and defence. Angelino is excellent going forward but struggles with defending and Zinchenko is very comfortable on the ball but neither a great defender or attacker.
