Every single club has at least 4 proven and experienced center-backs, just in case of injuries. We have had 4 in two seasons and nobody was complaining. We need a replacement for Ake, if not, we would be in trouble again.

Liverpool has had an injury crisis in 20/21 and they've bought Konate. They have 4 defenders and nobody is crying. We need 4 defenders too. Mbete has zero experience. We need replacement and we DON'T NEED TO SELL AKE FFS.

He looked half decent at times and it’s very hard to be half decent when not getting a run of games. But he isn’t at the level we need.

I said it when we signed him, he was always right there when goals were being conceded, just short of a block or trying to cover. But for me his judgement is a half second too slow for what we require. Probably would have gotten it given games and time, but when you can’t afford to drop a single point that’s a luxury.

Yes that means we’re gonna have to find someone good enough to push stones, Laporte and Dias whilst being happy to play 50% of games, but in txixi we trust.

Real has had Ramos, Varane, Militao and Nacho and nobody's crying, Chelsea has had lots of defenders, Juventus has had Chiellini, Bonucci, De Light and Demiral. Bayern has had Boateng, Alaba, Sule and Hernandez. PSG has tons of defenders. We need 4 CBs. One injury and we are fu*cked, especially if it would be serious.

They’ll always back themselves to stay in. Getting 2 years out of a competitive cb is a win, and keep them on their toes. A little friction isn’t the worst.

Look at Danilo and Cancelo as good examples. Keeps Walker at a high level.
