Nations League

Gundogan - and not because he's a City player - would be 80% improvement for this team. Even Henderson is such improvement on Rice in this set-up. But for me ultimately, the penny drops with Southgate. We were so good the first 15 minutes with overloading them on the top of their box and short passes. Ad then when they started pressing us, instead of doubling up the pressure on them he starts pulling back having one of his CBs pinging balls to nowhere and his MF being isolated in the middle doing nothing. The issue is he is safe in his job with 'only English manager' policy that it will continue like this. I am listening tS where Darren Bent says this game was improvement in our game and the first caller saying the problem was we didn't play enough of long balls, WTF!!!!!. So, no pressure from FA, no pressure from 'professionals', definitely no pressure from the only people who really care for the national team, those watching lower leagues where the game development stopped in 70s. I just wish I didn't get so worked up!

so we missed the fridge at the back

Debating Foden now if he should play the next game, he was the best midfield player out there.

Did Walker just say he’s a “seasonal professional”?

Probably won’t hit top form until the Spring.

That was only tolerable with the telly on mute, the stereo on loud, while catching up on the Premier League darts on the laptop, enjoying a proper Saturday breaky and a pot of robust dark roast coffee.

I thought it was reasonably balanced in what they said - did enough to start again, but may be a matter of Southgate not wanting to overplay people.

I would think there will be a fair amount of rotation in the squad.

Good interview from Walker too, and the Jones/Cole are being very supportive. Can't remember too many players coming out for interview after being sent off.

First half he was, thought second half he couldn’t get in the game. More to do with the way England play than anything though.

Can tell Walker was gutted in that interview, deserves to get in the next squad after his performances last season
