Nations League

Prowse should be told not to try and do those risky passes he is the ratter win give it do nowt else.

Gundogan - and not because he's a City player - would be 80% improvement for this team. Even Henderson is such improvement on Rice in this set-up. But for me ultimately, the penny drops with Southgate. We were so good the first 15 minutes with overloading them on the top of their box and short passes. Ad then when they started pressing us, instead of doubling up the pressure on them he starts pulling back having one of his CBs pinging balls to nowhere and his MF being isolated in the middle doing nothing. The issue is he is safe in his job with 'only English manager' policy that it will continue like this. I am listening tS where Darren Bent says this game was improvement in our game and the first caller saying the problem was we didn't play enough of long balls, WTF!!!!!. So, no pressure from FA, no pressure from 'professionals', definitely no pressure from the only people who really care for the national team, those watching lower leagues where the game development stopped in 70s. I just wish I didn't get so worked up!

Gundogan would probably get shunted up front with Foden, so Declan Rice & Dier could knock it around.

All the best moments they just showed of Foden & England, were when he was taking up his own positions & dictating play, so they put a stop to it.

First half he was, thought second half he couldn’t get in the game. More to do with the way England play than anything though.

That's what I thought. I assume that was Southgate wanting to try things to see how things go. It was generally a bit dysfunctional, and I think there needs to be more physical dominance at the back of midfield to play two wide men - Rice, Ward-Prowse, Foden is a very green midfield.

Well you mustn’t of been watching football long if you think that was a bad pen,was you expecting him to put it over the bar, razz can’t win with some people.

I don’t know if this is some kind of sarcasm/joke or not? You think that was a well taken penalty? Forget suggesting i haven’t been watching football for very long for thinking that was a poorly executed penalty, I’d suggest you’ve literally never seen a penalty taken before if you think that was anything but a terribly taken penalty. The fact it went in was purely down to the keepers choice to preemptively dive. It was shit, really really shit and there’s nothing wrong with saying that. he got away with it and I’m delighted for him as we all want a confident sterling ready to start the season.

Not sure why the “sterling can’t win with some people” comment comes out every time there’s the slightest hint of “criticism”. There seems to be this need for some to defend him no matter what because of the despicable abuse he got on his arrival here from the cultist and their press buddies. I get it, I can understand it if you’re talking to friends in person who happen to support other teams, it’s tribal nature,I’d probably do it myself, but on a forum for city fans why pretend everything is fantastic when surely you know just as much as me and every single other person on here that it was a fucking dreadful attempt.

I thought it was reasonably balanced in what they said - did enough to start again, but may be a matter of Southgate not wanting to overplay people.

I would think there will be a fair amount of rotation in the squad.

Good interview from Walker too, and the Jones/Cole are being very supportive. Can't remember too many players coming out for interview after being sent off.

Apart from the ridiculous comment about gaining experience playing against a team that is hard to breakdown.

That's virtual every game he will play in a City Shirt.

felt it big time when sterling got hold of the ball for the pen ? but boy sterling got balls of steel, if you asked him about the champions league miss he would say what miss cool as fuck, even down to just rolling it down the middle
