Navas

Had a shocker last night. Didn't close down any of their players which lead to the Ribery shot from distance, couldn't find a single City player with his passes and generally just ran round like a headless chicken. Easily his worst game for us.

Whilst Señor Navas needs to up his game, in terms of beating an opponent (see I used to laugh heartily at the Scum having Valencia, but we seem to have acquired our own version!!), he is supremely useful at intercepting counter attacks sprung from one of our earned corners!

I cannot think of one that has gotten past him yet!

He's also good at getting us corners IMO.

I'm amazed how many people are doubting Navas. I won't doubt him and I would start him every match he is one of the few proven world class talents we have

I always thought BM gave Navas too much credit. This is the first thread (I believe) where he is being criticized. I don't think that he is bad, not at all, but I just don't see him as amazing as some of the other people do. Pellers really, really likes him, so I think he will be playing a lot of minutes and a lot of games this year.

I always saw him as a super sub like Spain, tbh. A quick player that would be even faster, relatively, as a sub to change the point of the attack.

Alana had him quiet last night and matched his pace, but in the Audi Cup, when Navas subbed in, it was a different story.

Proven world class?

When was this? Certainly not at Sevilla. He has never performed at a world class level at any point in his career.

Once in a far, far away land he helped a wee footballing nation called Spain win the World Cup.
