Navas

I like him, but he's not untouchable. He should definitely be rotated with the likes of Jovetic, Nasri and Milner.

I tipped him to start against Bayern as I thought his pace out wide would give us a useful outlet that could counter their pressing game.

I do rate Navas for his pace with the ball, which is pretty special. However, he seems to have a fear of being tackled that limits his use of space. He either goes beyond or wide of the fullback, he never beats the man. This is something he needs to address to be successful in the premiership.

He didn't use the ball well, but as you say he was an outlet for our hard pressed midfield and was the only way we could retain some possession and get at them

This does not seem to have been understood by the tactical geniuses.

When I first saw Pellegrini's team I wondered if we could play football with a much reduced midfield ie 2 out and out forwards and an out and out winger, but we have already shown we can

He doesn't seem to know how to beat the full back in a 1 v 1 situation, which is worrying. The only time he's dangerous is when he can run into space unchallenged.

Good player and I do like him. But when we have a fully fit squad I only see him on the bench.

I'd much rather see a three of Silva Jovetic and Aguero behind Negredo and Navas used as a Plan B to open teams up if need be.

Whilst Señor Navas needs to up his game, in terms of beating an opponent (see I used to laugh heartily at the Scum having Valencia, but we seem to have acquired our own version!!), he is supremely useful at intercepting counter attacks sprung from one of our earned corners!

I cannot think of one that has gotten past him yet!
He's also good at getting us corners IMO.
Brilliant at this, he creates win win situations. He pushes right to the byline and manages to use his pace to whip the ball across goal dangerously, if it gets into the box and beats the man it is a dangerous ball, if it doesnt beat the man we get a corner.

I don't agree with the aguero being part of that 3 if he's not a striker he's useless because he has no passing instincts and is often to selfish with the ball to be any kind of support for a striker

We still need to give him time but think he still needs to feel his way in as an impact sub.

He's a game chaser IMO, or at least the coup de grace when the cherry needs applying.

Has surprised me how reluctant he seems to take an opponent on around the outside, considering his pace.

Far too many times, cutting into midfield.

Seems a great pro, though.

He played in a 2 the other night and was useless, albeit it playing alongside Dzeko.
