imo the best footballer out of all 3 possibilities is zaba

richards is not a footbally, he's an athlete, strong, quick and athletic
he has no footballing brain, no idea how to pressure an attacker, no idea when going forward and his urgency to get back and defend when he loses the ball/the attack breaks down is poor

onuoha is also very much an athlete playing football, however imo he is a much better footballer than richards, passing, tacking and effort and better understanding of how to play the game!
he's played very well in the last 2 games and deserves to keep his place for the derby

zaba however is a great footballer (certainly not an athlete!), good passing, great crossing, decent pace and good understanding of the game, though he does dive in a lot

imo at the moment with all 3 available for the derby i'd start onuoha and have zaba on the bench

and if i was to get rid of one it would definately be richards

Zabaleta is a living breathing liability. You always think please stay on your feet coz if you dont its a yellow, its a red and it almost certainly will be a foul in a dangerous posistion in which we will concede

Can you honestly say Richards fills you with confidence?

I wish Micah would come good again, though. It looked like he might for about two minutes this season but that's about it.

Micah is the better all round player. As much as it was good to see Nedum score yesterday, he was awful from an attacking point of view. He gave the ball away around 6 of the 7 times he linked up with Johnson and had Mancini going mad, whether it was from a heavy first touch or with a cross Dumbo would be gutted with. Having said that I thought he did well defensively and probably just edges Micah in that respect.

I agree I thoiught he was poor, his first touch was awful

Ned's always been a much better player than Micah. If it wasn't for the injury's he keeps picking up he would be an England regular by now without a doubt.

I think Micah is better going forward than Ned, how many times has he decided to run at defenders and get in behind them this season? Quite a lot. Neither of them fill me with confidence on the ball, they aren't very good technically. Defensively, I'd take Nedum hands down.

Do they both have time to learn? Yes, I think both of them can become excellent players for this club. Give 'em time.

I like Ned, he seems a nice guy but he is being massivley over rated by some of you as micahs being under rated. Neither are class right backs and both have similar problems there. sorry but ned's passing yesterday was awful even his goal was a misplaced pass. Both are good centre halfs though but for me micahs the better centre half. His diving is awful though

Honestly i know we need a new RB if we are gonna go forward as we have 2 center backs and a midfielder filling that posistion, and while all decent in that posistion not great

According to the rumour mill, Micah will be off in the summer - Spuds and Villa interested.

We need a top quality RB - neither Zab or Ned are it.
Both Zab and Ned look more comfortable in DM or CM

I thought about contributing to this thread so here goes. All you shameless blues who slag players off, why? Micah has come through the ranks as has Nedum, they're football players and will have bad games, they're both top professionals ffs, and are in my eyes capable of playing for England.

They make mistakes and you're ready to pounce? Couple of seasons ago Micah was unstoppable and all the faithful blues on here were bigging him up and licking his arse, Why? Nothing has changed! He still wears a blue shirt and tries hard for the club. I'll probably get slated now for 'I pay good money to watch City' For me, It was never about the money, it was about 11 men with a City badge on there shirt doing a Job and trying to score goals, nothing has changed and look at where we are now!! So Ned V Micah? No question about it, they're both from OUR academy, and they are both top players. We should be proud of them both.

Nedum is the better footballer of the two,Micah needs to learn his craft ,to make himself a better footballer. He needs to take a long hard look at himself as to how to nail down the rightback position for England,it seems more important to him (reading his Blogs ect.) Learn your Craft ,son..

I agree with every point you've made, including that one. If I had to pick two from those three potential right backs, I'd pick Ned and Micah any time. In fact throw Toure in and our two lads would get the nod over those two for me every time.

Squad or team.

If you can argue that Richards is a better footballer than Zab then perhaps Golfs your game. Whats all 'he's only 21' all about, if you've been playing football since being a kid and don't know or care to attempt to block out a crossed pass that will be running across you ....then your either double shit or too busy ensuring your chests puffed up enough for the cameras, neither are anygood. A lot of chat about Zab diving in (but never inside the box), what exactly was Richards game then pulling back Saha before he had passed him...did he not know where he was, thats real fuckin bril, a football player that don't know where he is in relationship to the pitch, not that suprising really cause the £60k a week DJ can't even take a decent throw-in. He's obviously been given an earful about defending the crossed pass, v Chelsea he went the other way and defended the prime time path a left winger would take with his life. Only problem with this was Anelka had stopped running and Micah had not and being right footed he was free-er than escaped canary to run from outwide into a threatening inside left position with Richards still attempting to block out some supposed apparition (i kid you not). What really takes the £60k a week biscuit is he repeated his man-marking of the ghost winger 4 times. I'll leave his fake injury when we were under pressure last year (the one that disappeared totally the moment our opponents attack broke down) for another day, had i been captain of city that day i'd have fractured the shitbags swede before he left the pitch out of principle.

Ned

When I've been asked to name the best eleven for City this season I have always picked Ned before Micah in that right back position.

Ned is the better allround player and tracks back a lot better than Micah. Having said that anyone can track back quicker than Micah.

If I had a chance to be heard by Mancini I'd ask him to train Micah into a central midfielder.

Tell Patrick to pass all his tricks to him. As simple as that.

It's such a waste not to make good use of Micah. I believe him to be a golden boy [if you know the ancient Greek stuff].

By the way, I'm on the 100th post! I'm a full bluemooner now!

Cant remember specifically which game it was, but Richards did play in midfield as in theory it was a great idea - however it backfired spectacularly as he was woeful.

Can someone remember which game it was, must be 2 seasons ago now by my reckoning?

It happened under SP I think - a home game around March time maybe? Can't remember the opponents.
