Related but unrelated, did anybody know that Sevilla's president has been in prison since 2011 for embezzlement?

he is sentenced to 7 ½ years in prison for corruption in Marbella Town Hall, he was the attorney of the mayor, but he has appealed the judgment, justice Spain is very slow and takes many years resources ..

Posters on here declaring that this is a "disappointing " signing because we had been "linked" to Cavani, Bale , Ronaldo etc etc .
Well , who made those links? The club? -no , the players themselves?- no , agents ? no - it was our old friends , the pissed old hacks in the tabloid press, so obviously we should take what they say as the truth , or maybe we should just dismiss it as space filling , made up bollox.
Linked with marquee signings - end up with disappointing squad player types - some of you out there seem determined to do the work of the gutter press for them.
Pellegrini made a statement along the lines of the pointlesness of having the best 12 guitarists in the world , when what you really need is a piano player , and some of you would do well to get off the computer games and get into the real world.
The manager of our great club has more knowledge and experience of how to build and progress and motivate a squad of footballers than any of us and if he signs player A instead of player B , then I will give him every support , until , or ,if he turns out to be wrong.

Really happy with this signing. End of the day he was the top scoring spaniard in la liga last season, and all of the other players who scored more than him are probably gonna cost 30m+. So for the reported price and wages this seems a good deal.
Also Negredo isn't really your typical target man. He is good on his feet and can help bring others into play. I can see him working well with Sergio and David silva. Also I think that the more Spanish speaking players we have it will create a good atmosphere in the team.

Just watched his 2013 goals on YouTube. Left-footed (sweet with Navas on the right) but can slot them in with his right, rather than fannying around to use his best foot.

I bet he's both flattered and delighted at the fact you are going to give him a whole 2 games to settle in and judge him :)

Though it does of course mean you are giving him more of a chance than many others on here, who aren't best pleased before he's even kicked a ball!

I'll make a judgement when I've seen him play for us a couple of seasons. That's generally the only time you can make a reasoned opinion. He many players looked great for us in their first season? Kompany, Zabaleta & Silva were average at best in their first season with us.
