Negredo

26 goals in his first season in England is unbelievable. Right up to his injury he was red hot, then he came back too quickly for the good of the side and now he's paid the price personally for it. Thank you Beast and have a good holiday, I can't wait to see you again banging the goals in and battling for the team next season.

Just imagine if he had stayed fit and on form with Aguero as well.

But then again we may not have seen Dzeko smash in those 14 or so in the last 4 months or so and finish with 26.

Both of you are right. We're just just incredibly lucky to have that fearsome artillery up front: three top class strikers and a fourth, Jovetic, whom we've yet to see the best of. God, but why do have to have a close season? I want to see City now!

Whilst obviously disappointing for him to be left out of the Spain squad, at least it will allow him to have a good rest, come back fully re-charged, hopefully bang a few goals in during pre-season, which will bring the confidence flowing back and we will see The Beast back to his best.

I don't think he'll start next season as explosively as he did this one (it gave the impression he's slightly better than he is)
But he can be a key player next season, for sure.

After missing out on the World Cup and seeing Torres going must be a major kick in the balls for Negredo who has done great this season scored goals but injury has seen his form go. I expect Negredo to come back with a point to prove that Spain fucked up by not bringing him to the World Cup enjoy your break.

Torres must have some compromising pictures of Del Bosque and/or the entire Spanish Football Federation

Torres always seems to do the biz for spain...
The less of our squad in brazil the better for us for next season. .
The beast can have a nice break, recharge the batteries and come back raring to go again..

Del bosque is going for the old players that he trusts so even though Torres and villa are shadow of their former selves, he is still sticking with them. Afraid to say negredo has always been a peripheral figure for the national team and given his form for the last few months, it's not a big surprise to have left him out. I'm surprised navas so left out given how well him performed for them in the Confed cup. They needed a plan B for the last two games in that cup and navas was excellent. They are going to be Fked now if plan A isn't working. Don't see how carzola, mata or villa are gonna give them a different dimension

There is quite a lot of criticism here regarding Negredo being left out. In the past Torres and David Villa would be untouchable, but Spanish supporters have begun to see them as on the downward slope and in need of replacement.

Costa is injured and may not be able to play the first few matches, and even when he does, he is not the right striker for our system. Torres is unfortunately a shadow of his former self and showed a real lack of sharpness last night (his attempted lob, when he could have simply placed it low either side of the keeper, ended up hitting a churro vender in the car park). David Villa still has the gift of holding up playing but no longer will beat any backs on the dribble and has trouble finishing off matches with energy.

I think Del Bosque was pushed into taking the biggest names for many reasons, not all of which were sporting-related. I think we'll go out in the Quarter-finals this year, which is disappointing but our reign couldn't last forever.

Even after his injury where he couldn't buy a goal Negrado still offers a lot more than Torres. Odd choice.

Beast still at the feast! City say Negredo is staying

Alvaro Negredo is going nowhere!

City officials have poured cold water on reports the Spanish targetman is to return to his home country this summer.

The Beast has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, with the Champions League finalists set to lose Diego Costa to the Blues’ title rivals Chelsea during the transfer window.

Reports on the Continent claim Atletico, who stunned Barcelona and Real Madrid to lift the La Liga crown, want the 28-year-old back in Spain after just one season at the Etihad Stadium.

But M.E.N. Sport understands City will NOT listen to offers for the big man and are adamant he is going nowhere.

Negredo exploded onto the scene at the Etihad Stadium with a mix of brawn and brilliance.

Dubbed ‘The Beast’, his partnership with Sergio Aguero saw him bang in 26 goals before the end of January.

But a shoulder injury, combined with a loss of form, led to 16 scoreless appearances and as the campaign edged towards its thrilling conclusion Edin Dzeko stole the thunder with five crucial goals in three games.
