Negredo

I don't want anyone to misconstrue my concern for spurs and Chelsea as a lack of belief on dzeko . I like and rate dzeko and have no problem whatsoever with him being in the side. But for the biggest games, the ones where we come under some pressure, negredo's ability to hold the ball up is really important. It gives is an outlet from the back and allows us to retain posession and bring the playmakers into the game.It was a big reason we lost at home to bayern: unless dzeko is bang on his game he doesn't do that well.

I totally agree in high pressure games against the very best sides Edins shortcomings can become glaringly obvious he's a great finisher but unlike the beast he is not the finished article let's hope it's not too serious and a couple of weeks rest and treatment is all that's required he's so important to the team shouldn't have been risked last night for me but hey ho the situation now is what it is ! we'll have to cope.

Not sure people realise how potentially serious this could be.

The hope is it's just bruising or damage to a nerve, as the Rugby fans were suggesting, but it could also be a fracture to the collar-bone which could put him out for 3 months

The fact that he played on, and that he doesn't look like he spent the night in hospital suggests to me it's not broken. There are a lot of delicate, fragile structures in and around the shoulder joint

We've only two players out right now and, in that respect, only Cardiff City have fewer injuries than us.

We have coped very well so far and I dont think we would have been any better off in any of the 4 competitions had everyone been fit.

Its just a shame the ones we do get seem to be to key players and are more than a couple of weeks.

Negredo can keep Nasri company for a couple of weeks ;-) We will be fine particularly as everyone is more used to Pelle's system and just slot into it now. Hollistic.

On the Physio website for injuries it says:

Marvin, I've fractured my collar bone falling off a ladder and he wouldn't be walking around with a smile on his face today, he'd either be in agony (extremely painful bone to break/fracture) or he'd be doped up to the eyeballs.
Plus, there's nowhere near enough swelling visible in any photos to suggest a fracture, lots of blood vessels running through that area = lots of swelling.

If he is out any length of time it will be a huge shame after getting Sergio back. Here is hoping it's nothing serious. Guess we will find out more tomorrow.

They always put that when they dont know how long the player is out for. Its updated when the club says what the injury is specifically.
