Who did you expect to sanction the ANC struggle?
Was Iraq one of your 'officially sanctioned wars'?

In the eyes of the World, yes.

My point is that you can't compare wars to struggles against oppression.
How, under any definition other than Bush and Blair's say so, was the war on Iraq 'officially sanctioned'? You're making it up as you go along.

The ANC's struggle was every bit as justified to the people directly affected as Britain's war against Nazi Germany.

In the eyes of the World, yes.

Personal opinions aside, the "War on Terrorism" was sanctioned by the UN. They are the world's police. So therefore "Officially sanctioned". Horrible I know but that's it.

Thousands are said to be gathering outside Nelson Mandela's house.

Police in Peckham are on a high state of alert.
Had that texted to me earlier. Am I a bad man to say I tittered? It should really say ''Nelson Mandela House'', but then the joke wouldn't really work!

That was war. Officially sanctioned war. Not blowing up officially sanctioned women and children in train stations.

Oh so if the British government sanction war, we're fine to drop bombs on 20,000 innocent men, women and children right? But if the ANC attack their oppressors they are evil murdering scum? There is no difference, Britain and Mandela in were both in their own ways fighting a vicious regime.

OPPRESSORS?

They were fucking women and kids waiting for a bus!

sssshhhhhh not allowed to 'diss' Nelson here.

Some dodgy looking mates though.

One day, far into the future, his autograph book is going to fetch a fortune at auction.

He's got Beckham as well you know, and Richard Dunne.

Everyone has Richard Dunne. Media whore.

Some piss poor comments on here tonight but hey that's why we have the freedom of speech !

Important guy and all that but BBC1, BBC2 and ITV suspend all programmes for eulogies!
Bloody hell!
It is a bit strong, innit? They didn't even do that when dear old Mrs T passed away. The BBC is run by bloody lefties. Shameful.

They didn't do it for Phil Collins.

Sad day, but at least my sky planner is nearly full with lots of stuff to catch up on. So hopefully I won't have to listen to all the gushing cunts on TV talking a load of fucking nonsense and pretending to be upset.
Even talkshite are all over it. They've wheeled out Stan Collymore to eulogise about him.
Stan Collymore ffs.
I half expected to see his picture at the top of the page instead of Sergio when I logged on.

Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela.

I know which I respect more.

But do you respect both is maybe more relevant.

Respect more.

Same result, different ethos.

Amnesty International wanted nothing to do with him as he preached violence. One mans terrorist and all that.

It split them. And after his release they embraced him.

So the women and kids in Dresden were oppressors?, selective opinion on what is right and wrong.
