I do, if he does go to Chelsea then we are in real trouble. He can absolutely dominate games and would be such a massive improvement on the dross they play in central midfield at the moment. He's the closest thing I can think of too an energetic Yaya Toure. Not quite the passing range but that same power and driving ability and a lot more likely to put in a tackle.

If we really want Matic then we could still get him I think, but he'd cost a lot. Chelsea's bid was rejected and Benfica are rumoured to be not too impressed with Chelsea's antics of trying to destabilise him just ahead of the Classico. It wouldn't be the first time a Portuguese club sold someone to another party just because someone annoyed them (see Bruma going to Gala in the summer for half what Chelsea offered, after endlessly pissing off the president with their underhand tactics)

Are they actually reporting it for themselves or just basing it off the same sources though? Hard to believe it happened during the game, or that if it had already been agreed before the game, that he would have been allowed to play?

To be honest I seen a tweet from a Serbian news channel and I think the other was a Serbian newspaper. Basically saying he will be a Chelsea player by Tuesday. All agreed etc

Is he better than Pogba? We need a CM desperately either this guy or Pogba, Yaya's body doesn't look like it'll stand up to the demands of playing in 4 competitions and Garcia is OK on a good day! I don't like the idea of Chelski improving their squad but we can't be in for every player they want so just have to live with it if they buy him.

Javi Garcia was highly thought of as well playing in that league, different proposition in the PL .... I'm going to convince myself that if Chelski get him he won't be that good ... and pray I'm right!!!

Wont affect Mata. It'll probably mean Essien goes on loan this month and Lampard is a goner in summer. IMO anyway.
