New breed of away fan

So you are suggesting that this blue taking a disabled supporter to a game should take on the morons . and 'step up'... what do you think would happen next ???

No of course not.

However most on here are not in his position.

Football grounds have been self policed on the terraces for as long as I can remember.

I made the point we all come the same rough city.

Ha, my mate all through school lived on that street. Martin Wright - was our school goalie but unfortunately a Rag...

Really? They lived opposite. Knew his younger brothers, Steven and Kevin. They all went Wilbraham?

I went to Claremont, for the smarter kids ;)

His dad was called Tom and they all worked for Royal Mail. His mum Carol was a nurse, who helped me when I fractured my skull one very early Sunday morning, jumping off my wardrobe as a seven year old.

Small world.

The majority of us also come from the same rough city.
Just because some of us don't choose to act like cvnts dosen't mean we can't act like cvnts when we need to.

Many fans have no problem dealing with the minority.
I have never had a problem when dealing with these knobs who go too far.
I have a very good tolerence of these fans as I adjust my standards and always remember where I am, football grounds have always been larery but I have seen much worse on the streets of Wythenshawe whilst growing up in the seventies.
If someone really pushes you buttons grow a pair and step up.

I can only agree with you wholeheartedly.

Should have been with the nutters I ran around with in the early 70s. Saying that there is a breed today that have no common decency

Firstly, let’s hope this lad pulls through: our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Makes you think doesn’t it?
There was a lot of trouble behind us in Block V with the corporate fans. I moved further down to avoid it when it was kicking off towards the end. The bus transport to the train station was fine but we waited 40 minutes for a train to Dusseldorf. We stood in sweltering heat in the carriage for another 30 minutes waiting for it to set off, herded in like cattle, many people sweating and unable to breathe. It was a disgrace. City should put in a formal complaint. We aren’t animals. Not the usual German efficiency as experienced at other clubs. Not impressed Schalke. Hope we beat you by at least 4 goals at the Etihad! Also, I think we should go back to picking up tickets with ID for UCL games, but make sure it’s better organised than Celtic.
Well said, few idiots creeping back in who need to grow up, all young, all young, no colours, seem to be on drugs and looking for trouble, how they get tickets is very strange , I have been to big games and do wonder how these people are getting tickets!!! Though picking up tickets with passport is difficult and inconvenient it may be the only way forward

“The worst thing I witnessed by far was the crush that ensued when the train pulled in at Gelsenkirchen after the match” said M18CTID. Yes, I agree - that was scary and totally unacceptable. Police stood on the platform smirking whilst we were crammed in and sweating and trying to get some air for the 30 minutes it took to actually get the train out of the station. And they wonder why we get angry?

Another thread bashing younger supporters for no reason.
‘Who’s idea was it to let off that smoke bomb it could’ve ended off badly’
‘They’re all coked up and violent’
Not condoning any of that behaviour and not saying idiots don’t exist but these ‘incidents’ are all one offs.
Big generalisation
One-offs that seem to be happening more than once

I was in the same section, and I think you're giving a bit of a lob-sided view there, mate.

Firstly, I didn't see any pints thrown at Schalke fans until one of theirs threw one at KDB. I'm not saying retaliating is right, I'm just saying painting the picture that it was down to City fans alone is not a true reflection.

I saw at least 2 Schalke fans giving Nazi salutes to the City end when they went 2-1 up. Appalling behaviour, which I would have pulled any City fan near me up on if they'd done it.

Thirdly, there was a lad in there end giving it the absolute big un, far more than any City fan I saw. He was walking up the stairs, goading the City fans any pointed directly and shouted directly at numerous City fans, offering them to come upstairs. He didn't make it back to his seat for the 2nd half.

I'm not condoning violence, or condoning violence at football. I'm not even condoning retaliation, or reaction to goading. I'm just saying the picture being painted of Schalke fans as poor innocent bystanders who were bullied by a bunch of loutish City fans is simply not true.

There were people on both sides who took it too far. They are equally to blame.

The sad thing is, most fans liked the option of being able to drink in the stands. But unfortunately, this will no doubt be suspended for games involving English teams in the future. Short sighted sillyness.
You can't blame Schalke fans for City fans squaring up against each other. And "most fans" did not like the idea of drinking in the stands, only the few that bought.

It's only a year since UEFA allowed alcohol in the grounds again, and it already looks a mistake.

I didn't go to the Faroes, but didn't they send the same Danish coppers from Copenhagen who by the third game they'd covered knew City fans would be no trouble?

Lokeren? The police were going to arrange for all City coaches to be corralled at a motorway service station, then escorted straight to the ground and out of town afterwards. Until the bar-owners in Lokeren said why are we turning away these City fans who'll drink a lot but be well-behaved.

EDIT: something has obviously changed.

Listen nobby, I didn't say anything like that, but throwing beer, pint pots, not being able to stand, is a different matter. If you condone that behaviour , take a little look on the mirror.
I can assure you I drink plenty of beer, have a song and a laugh, but I don't disrespect those around me.
We are all different sunshine.

Seriously, you need to wind your neck in. After all, you were the one who described a City fan who fell asleep in his seat because he’d had one over the eight as “sub-human”. Fuck me, if he was hurling abuse at you and acting a c*nt then fair enough, but to be described like that for daring to fall asleep pissed up smacks of someone who would be better off taking up trainspotting than someone who claims to enjoy a drink at the football.

Most fans know where the line is between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, but on a scale of 1-10, falling asleep hardly constitutes sub-human behaviour and if you think it does then your moral compass is in urgent need of re-adjustment.

Not just young fans
On the way back to the hotel at about 1.30 am in Dusseldorf, I saw a 38yr+ have a go at a 1100ltr commercial wheelie bin.

Proper Manc as well he gave that German bin what for!
Haha. I’m off to bed with with that vision in my mind, brilliant.

Daft c*nt should have sorted the woman out not the bin.

I don’t know who you go to the game with, but it’s been a bug bear of lads I’ve gone to the game with over the years that teams in Europe can drink in the stands, you can have a beer at a concert, rugby, cricket, why not football.

The rest of your post, I’m not really sure what you’re talking about.
